It’s about time someone tested this on a completely still subject. Most have tried to use it on an outside subject that is always going to have movement, and then, of course, dogged the feature out because it could not do what it was never designed to do. So bravo to you sir!

Thanks for that! I noticed the exact same thing! Everyone wanted to shoot trees and buildings surrounded by foliage. Or a car. It's still a niche in my opinion but it will get better I think. Thanks again for the comment!

Great content and excellent explanation. However, my eyes can't tell the difference between 45MP and 400MP, I'm sure is probably my eyesight and others perhaps can clearly see the difference.

Been seeing pixel shift composite images on mirrorless and cellphone cameras for a while. Wild to finally see it on a big sensor camera!

Thanks for the comment. I think it's rather niche in its use case. I will plan a video comparing photo stacking and pixel shift. It may be worth investigating.

So, how does the ibis shot avoid the focus breathing issue that the two single r5 shots show? Maybe i don’t really understand focus breathing?

Thanks for the comment! I'm not entirely sure it was actually focus breathing. It's just what it looked like to me. If you notice in the images back to back and in the side by side. One image got a little bigger than the other. Ultimately it's neat feature but I won't be using it very often just yet. Thanks for the comment.

@@TMVVisualMedia It isn't simply a reframing due to the processing? If the sensor is moving between shots, effectively making the sensor act if it was wider/taller (some added resolution might come from 'added' pixels in horizontal/vertical directions), wouldn't it produce a slightly wider angle appearing composite image?

Will this be available for R6 m2 update. For what these bloody things cost they should be at least 300 megapixels, Samsung ultra phone is 200 mpxls..!!!

Unfortunately, the feature is only for the R5 at the moment. The R6 does have IBIS though. I'm not exactly sure if the two cameras have the same mechanical components to share the same software feature. It's a very good question though. I will look into it. It may be worth it's own dedicated video. I appreciate the view and the comment!
