Thank you for not speed ramping on every single cut and pan! The few you used worked perfectly with the music and fit the video.

I appreciate the comment and that you noticed. It’s tiring to watch when people speed ramp an entire house shoot. I have found mixing up transitions or hard cuts will keep the viewer engaged longer.

The R6 II is still an underrated camera. Tony Northrup made a video and put it up against the a7sIII and z6III and the R6 II not only held its own, it actually won in many areas including 4k60 (the a7sIII is mushy) and even bested them both in rolling shutter performance. In fact, the 4k60 will be better than upcoming R5 II which will not have oversampled 4k60. And the R5 II can still overheat in 4k 24/30 apparently where the R6 II does not.

Tony’s video is in my queue to watch. I’ll have to check that one out. R6 II is underrated and from my understanding it’s one of the few that uses the full width of the sensor in 4k out of other brands. If for some miracle canon added clog2 in a firmware update it would sell out pretty fast. Did you hear that Canon? ;)

Every time I use my R6 II I am amazed at how sharp the images are straight out of camera. The high dynamic range is a real time saver when processing my images as I can more often than not adjust highlights and shadows without needing to mask in a bracket.

Can you please make a video on how you have your setting set up. I need help with auto focus, White balance, zebras, CLog color space, etc….

Nice one Jared. 00:40 the pond reminded me of a property owned by a man living between railway tracks. Theres a big lake behind his house and the surrounding is so scenic. Its a haven for train lovers. And he was shooting the trains with his EOS 7d. His name is Ed Painter, living in Cohutta, GA.

This is very helpful. Thanks for making the video. Also hello from Madison 👍🏼

Thank you! I was in Madison a few weeks ago for a shoot. Always great to hear from another cheesehead.

For the WAY the END PRODUCT looks (or moves), does the gear matter much? That is, given the cutaway editing style. I have the R62 but do a lot of work with my phone, actually, not that my older Crane Lab wouldn't do better. Yet with the setup & balancing time, given the end product again…well, what do you think?
@JaredHoyman3 ай бұрын
For me I have it so I don’t need to rebalance so the workflow is quick for me. If it’s a paying job I would shoot and use the best tool you have available.

Thanks for the review and I look forward to the R5ii comparison. Question, why did you move from the RF 15-35 2.8 to the RF 14-35 4.0? Was it for the size and weight factor? Do you ever miss or ever need the 2.8 aperture?
@JaredHoyman3 ай бұрын
@@jefftaz7401 I found a deal where I bought it for $850 brand new at Best Buy so I couldn’t pass it up. As for real estate it has been the only one I have been using since I bought it. The 14mm does make a difference over the 15 on the wide end. I shoot f8 in photos and f4 in video so 2.8 isn’t missed. I still have my 15-35 2.8 and is it at 2.8 with talking head vids on my r7 and on my r6ii. The 14-35 is also pretty light in comparison to the 15-35 on a gimbal.

I prefer the Pocket3 for walkthroughs, and attaching the K&F wide angle lens to the front. Does a really great job and no need for a bulky gimbal. That being said, I do love my R6-II, but I don't use it for that sort of video, more for longform stationary videos.

Yup! I fly the P3 on a Z-access rig, with a TriplTek tablet to view & use voice control…odd set-up, but suits my OCD needs…😂

I really wanted to love the r6ii, I just wish it could see through the outside the windows like the iPhone 14/15 and the zv-e1. I now shoot on the zv-e1 at native 12800 iso and it’s been game changing. 15 stops of dr vs 12.5 stops
@JaredHoyman3 ай бұрын
I’m very curious about the Canon R5 II in clog2 sporting 16 stops of dynamic range.
@greenlightstudios34693 ай бұрын
@@JaredHoyman absolutely, there is not much data on that now but native iso 800/4000. I’m waiting for xyla charts or something
@goodtimezproductionz3 ай бұрын
Did the F4 force you to crank up your ISO ? Really considering the 24-105
@JaredHoyman3 ай бұрын
@@goodtimezproductionz no. Most of the inside was maxed at 3200 iso and dark rooms at 6400. Anything 6400 and under on the r6 is pretty clean. 3200iso is cleaner than 1600. Don’t ask me why. It’s science ;). The 24-105 is an excellent lens.
