Thanks, I’m just beginning on vid. For the R7 would you recommend the EF 50 f/1.4, or EF 40 f/2.8 or something different. I have some shorter lenses but only the small end of the zooms- so larger f stops.

I would not really recommend the EF 50 1.4. The EF 1.8 (or RF) is the better pick. unless you are looking specific for the special look of the classical 1.4 lens which is mainly "special" because its unsharp and has a lot of CA. I liked it tho, at least on 18MP APS-C once and even more on 26MP Full frame (EOS RP), but i would not even think about the ef 50 1.4 on the R7 at all knowing its strengths and how they absolutely dont fit with the R7s high res sensor.

Which color space do you recommend in C-Log3 ?

When filming in C-Log3, no matter which camera I use, I get the best results with BT.709.

Hi Dan, I am using canon R7 and I want my photonames start with IMG_ and videos start with VI_ HOWEVER what I try in "yellow menu 1" and saving it to C1 photo or video . . . . is doesn't work. I always keep my last setting . . . . Any ideas on this ???

I am a beginner so I don't know much but My camera does not show 24fps... why is it? because I did'nt update to the latest Firmware update?

Having just bought my R7, I had the same puzzle. In the menu, spanner icon, second tab, set the Video System to For NTSC.

My canon r7 is only giving me the option for 50P or 25P on any type of 4k, I'm I missing something?

Change your Settings from NTSC to PAL

Something to mention: If you want to slow down 60 or 120 fps footage, you better go for higher shutter speed for sharper frames so you can slow down footage much better with interpolating images via AI.
