Canon R8 NIGHT TIME Low Light Review with 16mm, Youtube Video, and Vlogging. Is it good enough?

Hey Guys! A review on the New Canon EOS R8 Camera with the 16,, 2.8 Lens at night, It really is dark although it does not look like it due to the iso being pushed!
Can the Canon R8 hold up with no ibis and only enhanced stab? You tell me!
Just want to help you decide if it is right for you!

Great video. This is what we want to see. Vlogging isn't only for daytime. A full frame sensor comes in handy. And a compact camera is ideal. Canon really needs to make an RF 10-18 3.5-5.6 lens ASAP.

That stabilization is pretty solid.. And good point on the lack of warping on the edges. Hadn't considered that. And very good low light performance.

Yeah! I was totally suprised as most digital stab is kinda blah. But with the 16mm and enhanced it just plain works! In low light or the light! Thanks for the comments and the support!😊

Really enjoy your videos. I was on the verge of getting a Sony A6700 mainly for the auto focus reputation. But I have to say your videos convinced me to go the R8 route. Can’t beat that full frame ISO capability.

I picked up a R8 been loving it I have had a overheat issue once when moving from shade into direct sunlight shooting birds Fireware was on 1.0.0 from the box Updated to latest firmware and shot some photos and video for a client and havent had the issue again Have you had any overheating issues?

What is the effective focal length after the Enhanced Stabilisation activated? What does the 16 become? If it's near about 20mm, then it's great.

Thanks ! I heard other vlogers talk about your reviews as useful. I like that you take time and shoot longer so i can see real world use in different scenarios. For now looks like R8 and 16 mm will be a popular vlogging setup. I guess its still not clear if standart stabilisation mode and no stabilisation mode with wider field of view will be enough stabile while walking. Interesting to see moving / turning around camera from vlogging talk to other subjects as food, cars, flowers, landscape could be useful to see smoothness. Vlog around daily routine with meny short clips * at least 25 while moving around can show real use case.

If it is ok, I will give you a shout out in the next video thanking you for the idea!😊😊👍👍 If you just want a cheap vlogging setup for daytime, the GoPro 11 will do fine really, but if you do low light and also want something for talking heads for video and KZbin this camera works great for the price considering other options. Just get some extra cheap batteries which are small, light and easily fit in the pocket, and it works great!

Yeah the low light looks just like my R6. ISO 25600 is actually still useable in my opinion (when you do noise reduction using Topaz). Insane value for money the R8 is. I'm so impressed the digital IBIS held up WAY better than I expected. I might even sell my R6 and get the R8.

Yeah the Low light is pretty good for sure! Never used an R6, but The R8 for the price and considering the competition in the price class of 1500 dollars, it is hard to do better right now in my opinion. Thanks for the support man!😊

Thanks for the video greatly appreciate it. I was a little hesitant to buy the r8 because of the lack of ibis but your real world testing has answered my questions. While not class leading stabilization over all it’s decent not the best but not the worse. I can live with that. I’ll be ordering the r8 I think it will be a good upgrade from my iPhone 14 pro max which is what I currently use.

Hey what shutter speed are you shooting at with electronic stabilization? Usually EIS needs a faster shutter speed to work well, so if this is shot at 1/50-1/60 that’s very impressive

The R6markii is heavier than the R8, which makes it uncomfortable. However, the R6markii cannot use the 16mm 2.8 lens because the frame will swing and bend around.

I usually stop recording with my GoPro cameras 1 hour before nightfall because the stabilization gets jerky and the footage gets noisy in low light.
