For those of you who are experiencing problems with your camera connectioning to EOS Utilities, you are going to need to locate the "Canon windows file" and when you locate it you will see more folder within the file and look for "EOS 3", or "utility 3". Within that folder there is an application start up. I had this issue and that version worked for me. If you are still having trouble comment below and I will get back to you!

There is EOS webcam utility around right now so you do not need that workaround anymore. Problem is that you do not have Full HD with that workaround. Same problem for the EOS webcam utility because there is no Full HD output via USB 2.0.

You use the left "Alt" key on your keyboard. So, hold that key and drag the sides to crop! Hopefully, I helped!

Hi I have a problem with the camera staying on. I've heard it can't stay on longer than 30 mins or so cause it's not meant for livestreaming. Is there any way around this

That is caused by tax regulation in different countrys. A DSLR is a PHOTOcamera and not a FILMcamera. It technically can record/stream more than 30 minutes but the companys crippled down the operating systems on cameras for some countrys. As far as I understand companys have to pay more taxes on filmcameras and a camera that is able to record more than 30 min is interpreted as a filmcamera i some countrys. If you have a canon DSLR you might want to try the alternative operation system Magic Lantern. As far as I remember this will override the 30min limitation (and brings other nice features to your camera) but make sure you read all the stuff on their website to know what you're doing.

There is not. I called Canon myself and they informed me theres a law they can't allow it to film more then 29 mins because it's a DSLR camera not a video camera. So as far as I'm aware there is no way. Sorry to inform you. But what I do is just hit the focus key after every match I play and it'll stay up

I use my T8i as a webcam, I have a dummy battery and a HMDI going into a Elgato capture card. I have auto shutoff set to never. but after about 30-45 minutes of using it, it goes to sleep if I click a button on the camera it turns back on. how do i fix this

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T7i and I am running the latest EOS Utility, Firmware is up to date and I also connected the Canon via Bluetooth with my PC. That’s why I can’t disable the Wifi. Anyway I want to use the live shoot feature on my PC but the framerate is really low like stop motion. (Low Frames Per Second/Low FPS). My PC has decent specs: - ASUS - i7 6700 - GeForce GTX 965M NVIDIA graphics card - RAM 16GB That lets me believe that there is a problem with the connection between camera and PC? The transfer rate maybe? Or the EOS software... My intention is to use my camera as a webcam to stream my console videogames etc, and El Gato HD60S+ works fantastic. I am having a tough time with my EOS Rebel T5. It is an older camera and I bought it without anything but the battery pack, charger and lens cover. No CD or wire. I have an extra usb wire though. The thing is, this model I have doesn't have wifi options or settings. So I cannot disable anything of the sort. The software I'm using, EOS Utility Launcher, only allows me to pair my camera via wifi. I plug it in and nothing pops up or nothing is recognized. The only thing I came up with is to stay active every chance you get with the EOS program just so it knows you are still active with it. Canon said by law those camera can go past 29mins or its considered a camcorder, is what they told me. But I'm glad to hear my video helped you out! Take care now!

So this method does not require a capture card. If i have a capture card, can I just plug my camera into the capture card which goes into the PC for a better output (Like 4k res if the capture card allows it). Thanks!

Yes is does not require one but you have a capture card, that will work as well. But if you are using a capture card and not a Cam Link the camera in obs will be under video capture not under the slot were yoy would go for the normal webcam

Okay, quick question. Are you holding that key down and the click the red squares and adjusting? If that doesn't work then click on the sources, the right click on that source. Go to transition, edit transition, and the bottom buttons are what you are gonna want to adjust.

Hi, thank you for putting this together. . . . WIN10, 64: I hate to chime in with such an elementary question, but I've wasted too much time trying to launch this myself and I need to reach out. I have EOS rebel T7 and have downloaded the EOS Utility Beta from the usa dot canon dot com site and did *appear* to successfully extract the zip files but that's as far as I get. There is literally no desktop icon to launch nor can I find it when I search files. All I find when searching anything eos utility is the original downloaded zip folder. There isn't even anything under a canon search. So, I did the obligatory uninstall, reinstall several times and played around with dumping the download to different paths just to see if it makes any difference, nope. Also, just to mention if it helps shed light.... even in the control panel, nothing appears as canon in alphabetical order; only the eos beta. I cannot move forward at all until I can USE anything extracted from the zip downloadable from usa canon . Super duper bummed, please help me.

Windows or Mac? If you are extracting the folder right it should just appear. I would recommend extracting all to the desk top. If that still doesn't work reach out to me again and I can see what I can do for you. Maybe we can get on team viewer and I can take a look at it

You don't need to do all of that. Just completely close out of the webcam utility and select it as a video capture input. But the advice for cropping and getting rid of the crosshairs.
