The psychology part is really funny. I heard from some photographers, that they always put a battery grip on their Sony camera to make it look bigger, even if they do not need the battery grip at all for that shoot. And I hope the RF system stays for much longer than ten years.

@@TomislavMoze Yeah that 10 year figure sounds like it was pulled out of yer arse! ha ha Jeesh how long has the EF mount been around, since 1987 so 35 years. Canon did it right so they have a lot of room with it, where sony has kinda stuck themselves a bit with the e-mount flange size for stabilization etc. So what's wrong with Fuji? ;)

It is incredible, but take in a consideration that I live from photo and video production and for me it was a easy decision, if you are just building your business there could be a better investments for you :D

Hey man, thanks for the review. Did you ever use it with a CPol filter for portrait? Wenn, 95mm CPol filters are pretty expensive. I don't have one yet (as well as I don't have the lens yet). I'm struggling between the RF 85 1.2 (the normal one) and the 28-70 2.0

Hey, thank you for watching! I only used it with variable ND filter for video. If my personal interest where classical portraits I would probably go for the 85, that is till one of the best focal lengths for portraits for sure and paired with 1.2 you cant miss. 28-70 is I would say more for versatile photography.

Haha - no love for Fuji here! As for the 28-70, I absolutely love mine and mostly leave my other RF L primes and zooms behind in its favor. The only minor gripe I have is the CA and fringing on the edges at 2.0 against high contrast backgrounds. This is fair and expected, and I only list it because it is the only imperfection that I can see when using it over my other RF L primes and zooms. Otherwise this lens is what moved me to RF mount after 20 years on EF mount, and will probably keep me there until something surpasses it. Also like you, I still keep a few special EF lenses around, which for me are the 135/2 and 11-24.

hahah only love for Fuji mountain 🤣 Regarding the CA and fringing I agree few times it was strong, but still better than the old L glass I use, I don't have the RF versions of 50 1.2 and 85 1.2 to compare but I presume they are superior regarding image quality. Thanks for watching!

@@TomislavMoze Yes, the 85mm is practically flawless with no visible CA etc compared to the 28-70. I'm always going back and forth between primes and this lens. While tests have show it isn't as sharp as the sharpest RF primes, its sharper than pretty much all EF, so most peeps don't take the same photo at the same time with different lenses and then compare them side by side...the 28-70 is phenomenal and so much more convenient...and that convenience often gets the shot that you wouldn't be able to with the prime.

How do you think this will hold up without lens IS but IBIS only? Basically for family videos and photos, both indoor and outdoor. I’m currently using an EF 24-70 F4 version and looking to get more light. I tried the RF 2.8 version and while it was better in a lot of ways than my EF it was hard to justify the cost and hoping the 28-70 F2 would be a much bigger difference. I also use the 50mm F1.8 and that seems to give me enough light in darker home environments so I’m assuming the 28-70 will be drastically better than that. Thanks in advance for any opinions.

It is hard to be objective regarding stabilisation since every person has a different style of shooting photos and video and that dictates the need for better stabilisation. For me it works I do have RF 24-105 4L is and compare to it especially zoomed you can feel the difference regarding shake compensation but still I chose to use always 28-70 2.0 although it doesn't have the IS it has 2 stopes more of light so at the end it ends up close since you can have faster shutter with it. You still get the full 8stops of stabilization like you would in the 24-70 rf the technology behind it along with rf allows it to achieve those results even though it doesn’t have is. As long as you got the R5/R6 the ibis gives you 8 stops rather than 5 stops and this is said my canon themselves. This was one of the reasons I’m going for this lens

Hey there! When I shoot video it is my first choice, I rarely need wide angle lens so 28-70 is perfect range for most video situations at least for me, the problem for R5c could be the lack of IS, i did miss it a bit when shooting raw on C70. I like the size of it for the video, camera being heavier with it makes all the movement much more pleasant. thank you for watching! Hope it was helpfull

@@TomislavMoze Nice to hear. I'm a student and I could afford the lens, but not two RF lenses (right now). I do filming and photography, but my focus is filming as of right now. I was thinking of getting this, as I mostly film pretty improvised when travelling in urban environments. So changing lenses and carrying many of them is annoying. I thought maybe this lens is good for me, as I can save me money if i use it as my only lens instead of primes, save me time and weight on run and gun shoots in cities. Also I film at night often... Im using the R6, which I love. Do you think it's a good idea? I'm not sure if 28mm is wide enough for filming 🤔 But considering many great directors used similar focal lengths when you convert it from Super 35 to Full frame equivalent? It's probably overkill for a student... What do you think? Would love to hear from you, saw you even have a BA in Cinematography!

@ Hey, first thnx for watching! I use the 28-70 mostly when I film on r6 or r5 I think for normal cinematography it is really unusual to go wider than 28mm. basically wider lenses became popular mostly cause of youtube. I guess it depends mostly on what you like. Option is to take also rf 16mm 2.8 that is not that expensive and u can use it for extra wide shots and with 4k cropped mode as a 24mm lens. A friend of mine is doing great content with the r6 and 24-105 so maybe think about that one. Although anybody that tries 28-70 2.0 for video instantly fells in love into the lens :D

First thing first great pictures and thanks for sharing. But logging that lens for 6-8 hrs of wedding events hmmm not for me. What's the point of having a small form factor of a mirrorless body?

Hey there thank you! Regarding mirrorless size, I think canon got the. small size factor right.It is smaller but not to small, while sonny went for the smallest possible. Now some lenses are smaller with the mirrorless system, usually the telephoto ones. Regarding the 28-70 in my case when I use it I dont need a second camera I usually worked with two cameras on the wedding one with 24mm1.4 the other 50mm 1.2 plus one or two lenses in a small pouch on my waist usually 85 and 35mm. With this lens I can do everything with. one, camera maybe two lenses this one and 16mm /2.8 if the event needs a lot of wide shots. But I also think this mainly depends on your shooting style. I'm also a big guy so for me it is less of a hustle.
