Anyone else doing their daily workouts with the Canon 28-70mm kettlebell?

I absolutely love this lens and would buy it but... that is the only fear... will it replace my other prime lenses or will it replace my wife's kettle bell.

I love mine! I shoot weddings. Senior and family portraits it’s a great lens. I switched to Canon mirrorless from the 5D mark iii to the R body just because of this lens alone. When the announcement was made I hopped on!!!! The images render beautifully and now on my R5 there’s something special going on here 😂

Have rented this lens for a wedding job. It was great fun and is like to own it (sadly I now shoot Lumix) but don't time to note: 1. 28mm isn't that wide. 2. It's a have set up. 3. The aperture is so big when my wife picked up the camera and took photos of me I suddenly realised it's a bit intimidating close up. 4. Because of the side you can't move through the zoom range quickly, it's a little harder for run and gun. You have to stop, adjust, and carry on. In that it is like having 3 primes you can put on quickly. If I made a switch to R5 I'd buy this lens.

I own it since 2019 and, defenitely, as a wedding photographer, is a dream come true. The combo with the R6 is simply stunning: this lens outperfoms the sensor, but I don't need the 45 mpx files from R5 (at least for now)

Great Video. Personally I decided on the 24-70 2.8. For me, the minimum focus distance, no IS, the price, the weight was decisive.

Hmmm...for me not an option. The image quality is excellent, no doubt. But it does not give your images a special touch like a 1.2 lens. So I prefer the Canon RF 50mm 1.2 combined with a Canon F 24-70mm 2.8. The 24-70mm 2.8 for standard work and the 50mm 1.2 for images where I want get a special look. My opinion.

I compared this lens to my 50 f1.2 at f2 and I see pretty much no difference. But the 28-70's 50mm fov is wider than the 50mm f1.2 at the same distance.

Hey Joel, how does this do with handheld video on the wide end? Do you get the sensor wobble with the R5? I get it on my non-stabilized lenses wide, but didn't get it on the rf 24-105 wide. It seems the lenses that have stabilization don't have a problem with wobble. This 28-70 is supposed to have good stabilization with the R5, but yeah, wondering if it shows wobbles in video. Thanks!
@joelhypponen3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for bringing that up. I actually had the same concern but haven't had any issues shooting hand held so far even with wide. The IBIS is pretty good plus with warp stabilizer you should be golden.
