My flash doesn't work at all anymore. Do you know how to test the light bulb before getting to far and finding out is something else? Is there a number of resistance if tested with homs multimeter? Thank you.

What's the rubber thing called that shrinks over the wire when heated (looks like its seals the solder wires)

Very hard to see what you are doing. What are you doing with the thin metal wire that comes with the new tube?

For what i see here, as long as i just unsolder old bulb / solder new bulb. It is quite a safe procedure. Is there anything i should keep in mind while doing this?

it is safe. no truble. but the bulb is small so do not use unnecesary force and make good insulation. there is high voltage there.

I just did this, and i accidently broke a tiny cable that's black and runs to the top of the white part of the flash, when heating the shrink tube with a lighter. I fixed that error by only shrinktubing the splitted cable together, flash works fine yet atleast. No idea what that optical cable was for.

Bonjour, j'ai une petite question sur un SPEELITE 420EX qui fait depuis peu me fait un semblant de bruit de crémaillère à chaque recharge. Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait une idée ? MERCI d'avance.

I've replaced the bulb - it can output power to expose correctly at F11 but changing the manual power setting gives the same power. A few people had this problem without a solution. If anyone else found a solution I'm all ears. I reckon a chip is broken.
