I have this mic the RODE video Mic Pro. I also have the Stereo version. I am trying to use either of these mics for both podcasts and on camera with my Google Pixel 4XL. And insta360 One R. On my Pixel 4XL I am using the app Filmic Pro. I get sound out. My Pixel phone and app both detect the mic. It is just that the audio amplification is just low. Even setting the switch to +20dB. The on board mics pick up much better louder even though there is going to be much more room noise. The Rode mic sounds good on my Canon 70D camera. And the levels are good. Maybe it is the DAC in the Pixel phone and insta360 just does not work well with this particular mic. What are your thoughts. My RODE NGT2 Mic sounds great connected to a SURE MVI into my Pixel 4XL. Nice levels and everything. The RODE mics connected to the SURE MVI still sound low volume even if I put the mic right up to my mouth. Any Thought would be appreciated. Thank You.

@@johnm.gerard1718 I've never owned any other phones besides iPhones and have never used Filmic Pro so can't really speak to it but perhaps the Pixel has it's own built in amplifier that you can't control. Maybe you can google 'app to control audio setting Pixel' and see what comes up?

Hey thanks for jumping on board Jennie! I recommend using the kit lens to start, then if you want to do more photography, get a Canon 50mm lens (it gives a really really nice blurry background). If you're doing more video, get a Canon 10mm-18mm because that lense will be very wide, meaning you can get a lot in the shot.

How do I get 12fps on a DSLR, instead of rendering on lower frame rate on post production. Does a camera have 12 and 16 or manually adjustable frame rates?
@gibsonedu4 жыл бұрын
You're limited to 24, 30, and 60fps on the video mode with this DSLR. There is a software called Magic Lantern which does give you move control over stuff like that. Here's a video on it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGbQnp6oZ7Cepc0

@@gibsonedu Thank you! I was going to buy Cannon 600D and in another video, someone gave a lousy answer, saying it's Magic, but that was a stupid hint I did't get. Thank for the right answer : D

When I switched a lower ISO I noticed a better quality it was looking grainy before, but my image was also really dark and I was filming inside. What do I do?
@gibsonedu3 жыл бұрын
Lower the aperture as much as you can as well. In the end, the best way to brighten up a shot is get more light in a room. Try filming in front of open windows or turn on lights in the house.

So when I usually record indoor I have to set it at 6400 iso and it’s still low then I have to changer shutter higher to actually see image. But I do notice it gets grainy so you generally need to stay at 1000 iso just invest in a ring light maybe?!? I just have a hard time getting the video image to show bright enough to see
@gibsonedu3 жыл бұрын
Yeah with a budget camera like the T3i, the best way to get a brighter image is to have more actual light in your shot, be it with a lighting ring or filming in front of a window or just using a lot of lamps. More expensive cameras can raise the ISO a lot higher without getting grainy.

I'm very new to this and having trouble getting my videos to focus. I'm using an EFS 18-55mm zoom lens and if i keep the camera ~8 feet away from myself and other things its very blurry. No matter what I've done I can't get it to focus clearly. The only thing that works is to bring the camera within like 12 inches of the object, but i need to have a wider shot. Any advice on that front? Thank you
@gibsonedu5 жыл бұрын
The very end of the lens rotates as well and that helps put things in and out of focus. Try that and let me know. Also search 'Using the canon kit lens' and see what comes up on KZbin.

I am struggling with the focus setting on my camera. I film alone so I have no one to use as a focus dummy. I have tried with objects but then as I move I will lose focus, and never get it quite right... Any recommendations?
@gibsonedu5 жыл бұрын
It's tough to keep focus with a T3i. I generally sit close enough that I can adjust the focus from the spot I'm sitting in and try not to move too much forward or backward.

Would you say what light sources were you using for this video? That's what I'm in most need of. Also, what focal length?
@gibsonedu6 жыл бұрын
In this video, I was sitting in front of a window (but not with direct sunlight coming through it). Focal length on this lens was my 10mm-18mm and I think it was wide at 10mm for this video.

By the Lord, Thom Gibson, thank you. Here I was turning on two light bulbs *plus* the light coming through my window, 55 mm (because it's the longest my lens gets) and it was all looking like garbage.

I'm not much of a photographer so I've never even worked w/ RAW since I didn't want the big file sizes; so I'm not really the person to ask for that. No RAW for video on the T3i.

I have a question. Love the tips but I'm curious about shooting tracking shots like running. What is the best frame rate to shoot that with on a canon dslr?
@gibsonedu4 жыл бұрын
Athletic stuff is almost always filmed at the highest frame rate. Looks ‘higher energy’ and looks better when you put it in slow motion. With the T3i, the highest frame rate is 60fps. You’ll want to set the shutter speed to 120 if you do that. Lower your aperture as much as you can and then raise the ISO only as much as you need to
@Drunkensailorgaming4 жыл бұрын
@@gibsonedu nice. That's where I was having issues. I know you got to adjust both but wasnt sure about the aperture. I appreciate your quick reply and do hope your safe through this craziness.

@@gibsonedu were filming a pitch trailer for my new show but with all this going on I've been using my own equipment trying to tie in some older footage so we were filming that today. We were going to do running shots for tracking but we realized walking in would be better for what we were trying to accomplish. It looked great and I learned a lot about shooting with a long lens. I was usually able to get maybe up to 15 min before it automatically stopped and I had to start a new recording. I typically recorded shorter segments than that though. Or if it was like an interview, I'd stop after one question and start a new clip at the new question.
