I started taking pictures about 8 months ago and my dad gave me his old t4i since he has a 5d mk3 and I shoot a lot of car photos at tracks around Florida, now I have a 5d mk3 and I still use the T4i as a second body and it's amazing, 18-135 lens on it all day and the pictures are great

Do all the Canon L series lenses work with the Canon T4i? I own the T4i and for portraits +, I'm looking into either the 135mm F/2L USM, the 85mm f/1.2 L II, the 24-105 f/4L IS, and the 70-200 f/2.8 IS II USM. ect. I would like to know; if one L lens is compatible, that all the L lenses are compatible with the Canon T4. thank you for any help.

Yes. L series lenses are all EF mount and the T4i accepts both EF & EF-S mount lenses. No need to worry. :)

Dear Jared. The continuous autofocus in video is still making noise because the 18-55mm does not have a STM motor. A STM is required for the new, smooth continuous video AF feature of the T4i! The new 40mm 2.8 STM and the upcoming 18-135 STM both have the silent autofocus motor, designed for the continuous video-AF of the T4i. Using a non-STM motor on the T4i in video mode still gives you the benefit of phase-AF instead of contrast-based AF, but is missing the smooth focusing movement.

t4i/650d is great for low-light shooting. I almost never use flash, but take most of my pictures indoors, so 6400, 12800, and even 25600 ISO is a must to get non-blurry images.

all the xxD ranger a "cheaper" cameras compared to the pro range, and cheaper is different to cheap. Good glass is good glass whatever camera you put it on. My favourite lens is the 24-105 ƒ4 L and I use that on a 550D and there is a noticeable improvement over the kit lens or the 50 ƒ1.8 etc. As for 70-200 on a crop body... I've used the ƒ2.8 mkII and it was awesome but also very long in terms of focal length working out as 112-320mm. Do you need that reach?

Cool review Fro..I liked your little jab at ThatCameraStore guys vid.review(going on about the buffer filling for sports!). I didn't see anywhere Canon advertising it as a sports shooter?...It's a "beginner" all rounder with some cool new technology...review it that way....well done.

as far as the touch screen... it turns off automatically when your face gets too close. this is default and prevents touching the buttons w/your face w/o locking the screen. it turns back on once it senses nothing is near it. i'm not sure if it is a heat sensor or whatever it is, but it works nicely.

Nice video! I am trying to decide between 60d and 650d kits. I can get the 60d with 18-135(non STM) 100 euros more than the 650d with 18-135 STM. I am an enthousiast, I own no camera right now, used to own a 550d, but cannot wait for the 60d replacement. I have read all reviews about features etc.. 60d: better grip and controls,VF,battery, body, wheel. 650d: digic5, touch screen, video AF etc. Which would you recommend? I am doing mostly stills but want to do video too. What do u recommend?

its very light. One of the lightest DSLRs. One of the reasons i chose this series T3i/T4i/T5i was the weight and comfort in hand.

One question though, if anyone can answer- if I am planning on taking classes and maybe one day being a professional photographer, is the touch-screen going to affect my knowledge of SLR cameras? As in, should I get used to the buttons, etc... or is getting the t4i okay although I will be used to a touch-screen? Thanks!

Hey Jared, I recently got into photography and picked up the T4i (with kit lens) as well as the 50mm f1.8 lens. I was wondering what are you suggestions for flash and another lens under $1000? I like taking portraits and landscape shots, some macro on the side as well. Thanks! Jason

The best thing you said! "Don't overthink!". I'll really try to do that. Thank you very much!
@sirmoak12 жыл бұрын
Actually, you're quite right. If anyone thinks of going pro, then the cheapest "new" camera from the Canon range for them is the 7D. If their goal is shooting sports, then I think that's the way to go. For weddings, studio work, portrait shooting the 5D mk II is a beast and can be bought used at about the price of a new 7D now. In terms of image quality the lower end Canons are fine, but after about a year of shooting you start to miss some of the functions the more expensive bodies have.

listen to this video, or any of his videos really, with headphones on. There's a slight hiss that is really easy to fix by just adding a lowpass filter and adjusting it until you find the right frequency that gets rid of the hiss.

@cobphotography366011 жыл бұрын
Ok, I'm posting this comment only because I own the canon T4i, I have also put it up beside the 70D & to be honest. The t4i with the L series lens I have on it takes as good of photos as the canon 70D with 18-250 lens, the t4i isn't a beginner camera. I use the T4i to shoot wedding photos and ALWAYS get very good comments on how the photos turn out. Low light Bright light it doesn't matter the T4i stands its own ground, the only thing BETTER is the 5D mark 3, and that body is around 2500.00 US

You´re right! But that´s just marketing language, it really boils down to some simple questions. Do you need the plus in sturdiness, weather-sealing, speed, high-iso-capabilities and dedicated buttons of a pro body and do you need it enough to pay (a lot) more for it and the additional gear you need?. I´ve been a photo-enthusiast for 35 years I got great shots out of all cameras I´ve had over the years. Presently I´m working with the T4i, which is perfectly fine for me as a non-beginner!

Sorry this message is WAY late but I just joined youtube, I agree 100% with you that the canon t4i is NOT a beginner camera, I use it for wedding photography and by far the results are about the same as the 60D and 70D even though its 18MP and the 70D is a bit more, the t4i Stands its ground very well and honestly does a better gob then the 60D
@ahumpedgoblin12 жыл бұрын
The few main things drawing me into the Canon is the touch screen, that fact that I already own a Canon with compatible lenses and the price at the moment as the Nikon is yet to drop. I honestly feel like my Canon feels a bit plasticy and too consumer friendly, while the Nikons I've felt have in my opinion been a bit tougher and more sturdy. I do what a camera with capable video as well as still images, but both appear to have equal ups and downs.

@alexcorona12 жыл бұрын
Just because it's a crop doesn't mean it's a bad camera at all, for years the 1D was a crop and is still Canon's top of the line camera. Having a crop sensor means it will get the sweet spot of a full frame lens so it some terms it's better.

Fair enough. You make a good point as well, that it is important to have room to grow. I love my D5100 but wish it had in-body AF, dedicated switches for common functions and the abililty to couple with AI-S/non-CPU lenses. Would have gotten a D7000 or D300s if the budget had allowed. It depends on how much you want to use your DSLR for video. If it's stills, go with a used 7D, which is the same priced lightly used, as a 6D. If you're going to be filming a LOT of video, the 7D is still good at it... but the T4i is the best HDSLR out right now.
