Aside from the obvious homages to Shin Godzilla, I also like the quieter moments, like the sequence of Hedorah being led to the trap by headlights and the resulting calm before the storm. The way the eyes are Animated is also something to be commended. The way they twitch around, adjust to the light and even how they aim the lasers. Great kaiju aren't just cool or big or destructive; they're manifestations of real-life problems, and Hedorah fits that perfectly. The seemingly insurmountable problem of pollution that will eventually be our downfall, wherein even our strongest weapons only proliferate it. The fact that Hedorah can be just as relevant today as it was all those years ago makes it such a great kaiju. Hedorah has so much potential. Any future film would have to create the same sense of dread and helplessness that this short movie did. Well done!
@mikephelps54542 жыл бұрын
Hedorah is a representation of pollution. Pollution is hard to get rid of even today, and Hedorah was hard to kill, because even if they did kill one, more will appear. That’s why I think Godzilla and Hedorah’s rivalry is interesting, since the two are abominations made from the problems caused by man: nuclear and pollution.

This Shin-esque Hedorah is certainly powerful, more powerful than any Hedorah incarnations that we have seen before. However, it would take more than the power showcased here in order to defeat this Channel's version of Godzilla Earth. Because if you look up the video about Godzilla Earth vs Humanity, you should understand of how powerful Godzilla Earth is in just his base form. And that's not even counting his Scarlet form which defeated Mechagodzilla rather easily. Not to mention the boosted version after absorbing Mothra's life energy in order to destroy the physical manifestation of Void Ghidorah. Moreover, said boosted version can even power up into a more powerful Scarlet form during the climax of the fight against Void Ghidorah.

Marvelous, thats the only thing I can say about this masterpiece, marvelous… You’ve really made an incredible animated video that took my second favorite Kaiju of all time that took a unique direction that is fascinating in a horrifying way, while adding elements of Shin Godzilla that actually works. And the fact that this is a solo Hedorah fan video that doesn’t have Godzilla or any monster is a huge refreshment. Everything about this is horrifyingly beautiful.
Wow, just wow. This was both an amazing video and a horrifying thought of just how much of a world-ending threat Hedorah could be if it actually wanted to destroy us. Hedorah’s already a serious threat to both Godzilla and especially mankind simply by existing. The mass death and destruction it leaves in its wake are caused by its bizarre toxic biology rather than any evil intent like other Kaiju. The weird truth is Hedorah doesn’t actually harbor any hatred towards humanity, why would it hate us when we’re providing it all the food it could want with our pollution? But this video shows that if the Smog Monster actually sought our destruction, it’d be pretty damn easy for it to do.
