The first thing one needs to know is how to start it up. No one has bothered to show this. Please demonstrate the instruction that one sees upon turning it on for the first time, which says: "To fully use this camera, push and hold the switch in (arrow) direction then rotate to unlock." 1. Which switch? 2. .. rotate what? 3. In which direction? Thank you.

Sorry to say it but you appear to be very stupid. What exactly do you think the on/off button on top of the camera is for? The "switch" on the lens is a lock to keep it safe during transport. You need to unlock the lens to zoom it. That was clearly explained near the start of the video.

@@davidf6326 True. However, just yesterday I had to search KZbin with those exact words: _To fully use this camera...._ And thankfully I found a video where someone demonstrated this. This was only necessary because I had just recently bought the kit lens with the lens lock. My other lenses are manual, which is another story on how to enable something in the menu to work with manual lenses.

Thank you...but you should start with where we put the battery, than the card,..all the physical aspect of the camera and then go to tech screen stuff. Also only in video mode do the info and * works.. Wiil have to read the manual and do test while on the planes and airports for a 33hrs trip...plenty of time to get use to it before landing to Bali.

Hi I want to ask about how to create the MDG; it's like the camera is recording the moment several seconds before the photo is captured. I use this camera and just now I realized that the EOS M100 compiles this MDG.. while several months ago, I could not find this MDG. So it's like I accidentally change the setting so that the MDG file appears in my memory card, but I still don't know how to set this. Please let me know as this is cool! :)

What are the USB ports for? They don't seem to be able to charge the battery. In fact, it doesn't appear that the batteries can be charged in the camera at all, right? USB isn't even mentioned in the user manual.

the USB port is used when connecting to a computer, it allows transfer of files from the camera to the computer, and also would allow for firmware updates, i would suggest you looking on the Canon site at the Manuals and support documents available for the camera.

The Canon IFC-400PCU USB Interface Cable enables you to transfer your camera pictures to a computer fast. The cable connects to your camera and to the USB port on your PC or MAC Computer. Comes standard with the EOS 1Ds Mark III, 1D Mark IV, 1D Mark III, 1Ds Mark II, 1D Mark II N, 1D Mark II, 5D Mark II, 7D, 5D, 50D, 40D, 30D, 20D, 10D, Digital Rebel XTi, Digital Rebel XT and Digital Rebel. Please see Compatibility tab for compatible models.

@@Figmareviews Oh, so it is NOT in the manual. OK. But to tell the truth, most computers have a SD card reader. I wish the USB port could be used to recharge the battery instead. True, there is an external battery charger, but having another option for charging would be more useful.

@@WOWTrailCam I did not find anything in the digital Manual, and I have not had time yet to flip through the physical manual, I will flip through it as soon as I can and see if I can find any info on the USB port (Digital Terminal). Also when it comes to charging, most people have multiple Batteries so that if they need to charge a battery, they have a spare they can use while one is charging.

This video did not mention much about video/movie settings - After many months of studies about this camera, I bought this camera at a higher price in January 2021 from Canon's authorized dealer in my country. Most essential movie feature, the frame rates - 24 fps and 60fps are missing!!! I am really disappointed and frustrated - My main need was video/movie, but I couldn't achieve it! anyone who reads this comment please check everything before you buy this camera in 2021, what you see in fancy Canon promotional reviews maybe not there when you buy the products?
