I said we chose Google to live stream, and I meant to say we chose KZbin.
Because of the coronavirus outbreak, our church can't meet in person. Livestreaming your church service is a great way of keeping the ministry moving without the germs. Let's talk about an easy church live streaming setups that your church can use this week.
We set up our church to live stream for less than $100 with great audio and video quality.

I assume we would need to have the computer hooked up to an internet connection?

Yes, through an Ethernet cable preferably. I think upload speeds need to be at least 6 Mbps. We started with WiFi instead of the Ethernet cable, but once song service started ppl complained of buffering. We now run a 100 ft Ethernet cable to the modem in the office.

If you don't have internet another option is to have a "simulated" live service. I'm thinking of making a video about it. You can sign up at online.church for a free account. They are the makers of the YouVersion Bible app. You can even have ppl raise their hand for salvation & have altar workers pray with visitors on there! Very cool..
