Nice review. This keyboard is way too small for me though.

Yea, the 60% profile is definitely not for everyone... Losing the arrows is still a hit for me. Right now I am using the Daring Run Flip 6P on my desktop and it's basically like this profile, but with the numpad.

Thanks for the showcase. Did I understand you correctly? The bluetooth/wireless is not working!?
@ChrisJames024Ай бұрын
Yeah, so I ran into a weird issue. The Bluetooth got reset when I was working on it, but the Windows was remembering the Bluetooth key. I talked to Pete Johanson and he said that I need to go into windows and clear the bluetooth connections. I was able to do that and then it started connecting again. It's more of a windows issue. There are other changes to I can make to just make it want to always connect, but I have not tried that yet. I am not that good at the GitHub thing and I am really waiting for the improved UI a little. Til then I will just move along the way I have already!

Alright good to know - I saw some other review where they also mentioned broken wireless - guess the experience could be improved!

@@officemax3977 Yeah, it's more than likely not broken, but sort of a Windows issue.

Any foam between the polycarbonate plate and the pcb? sounds a bit hollow without it.
@ChrisJames024Ай бұрын
It's using the FR4 plate that comes with it and there's plate foam and an IXPE sheet. There's no case foam though, that would inhibit the downward firing RGB and I didn't want that. I thought about using case foam, but cutting big holes in it to help with the RGB, but I decided that the keyboard actually didn't sound hollow without it really. Do you think that this sounds hollow?
@SgtStarSlayerАй бұрын
@@ChrisJames024 just a touch, there is one accessory that can be placed on top of the switch socket that absorb some sound and vibrations. it is made of IXPE also.
@ChrisJames024Ай бұрын
@@SgtStarSlayer Yeah, that's the IXPE sheet I am talking about. It goes o top of the PCB and the switches go through it. and there's the poron plate foam on to of that... I had to cut off the entire perimeter of the plate foam though, to accommodate the Gummy O-ring, but the ring itself acts as the perimeter sound dampening, so that's fine.

@@ChrisJames024 i am referring in between of the plate and switch. it is like a sticker surrounding the opening for the switch.
@ChrisJames024Ай бұрын
@@SgtStarSlayer Yeah, I think this is just a difference in terminology, maybe. To me, the plate is the positioning plate. The piece of plastic/CF/FR4/Metal that the switches go through that provides alignment and stability to the switches. The thing I think you're talking about is what I call the PCB, which the switches plug into and have the circuitry and is essentially the keyboard itself. The IXPE sheet sits on top of the PCB and the switches punch through the IXPE sheet to plug into the PCB and provides dampening for them and makes the sound a little poppier. Aside from the IXPE sheet, some newer keyboard also have a PET plastic sheet/film that is under the IXPE sheet and the switches also punch through and modifies the sound further tending to make the sound more marbley. I do not have a PET sheet on the BakenekoGO this would push the switches too far out from the PCB and could cause issues with the gummy O-ring. I hope we're all aligned now and I'm really sorry for the confusion so far.
