Laplace Taken Smoke bombs are a nice luxury, but not necessary. if you know both monsters you should have no issue dodging them at the same time, and may be able to force them to attack eachother for an even faster kill time.

Matthew Singleton The problem is when others aren't aware of the other monster and keep carting, and besideds monsters hurting each other wont make it faster, they barely do damage to each other to call it "faster kill time".

I fucking hate this stupid quest. To this day I've never been able to craft the star knight armor. Randoms always, without fail, every single time, triple cart like no tomorrow. And I'm definitely not good enough to solo this shit by myself. Fuck this quest, and fuck that stupid star armor.

I honestly think this quest is harder with smoke bombs, i can't see shit, and 1 time i used it and got insta target by the two, and died, is pretty doable with 3 - 4 people, the monsters usually focus on 2 people each, and the quesr become more easier, i don't think i can do that quest solo haha.

I'm here after watching this be solo'd and soloing it myself in G3 gear (pre gog). And in the first 10 seconds I see it, the way to remove part of the RNG, going the backdoor. You have no idea just how many times I've gone the front door and been spotted by zinogre immediately. this quest is only hard (solo in prog) because someone disabled the arena gate (I do have 2 clears though 3 tickets, sheer rng hell). Excellent gameplay though, I learn quite a bit of the bug stick from these ancient videos and yes, Fuck ledges 👍

currently trying to solo through this since the gear looks quite good both appearance wise and usability though with current gear though my gear isn't as good as yours just reach the rank 3 urgent which is part of the reason why want better gear at least for insect gliave since my quick test attept against it insect glaive seems to be a good way to go for it instead of my usual choice of great sword

Wouldnt a honed blade set with the hellruin glaive outclass the setup you are using now?

mrishouldstudy Bounding Dalamadur + AUXL (77.5) + Honed Attack (62) + Challenger +2 (77.5 & 15% affinity) + Critical Eye +3 (20% affinity) + full buff (1.25) + White Sharpness (1.32) 930 + 77.5 + 62 +77.5 = 1147 1147 * 1.25 * 1.32 = 1892 1892 + (0.35 * 0.25 * 1892) = *2057* With Hellruin Glaive, I can get Honed Blade (62), Challenger +2 (77.5 & 15% affinity) and Critical Eye +1 (10% affinity) at best, with its inherent 15% affinity, it's 40% affinity in total. Considering the purple sharpness (1.44), Attack honing (62) and full buff (1.25), you get the following results: 837 + 62 + 62 + 77.5 = 1038 1038 * 1.25 * 1.44 = 1868 1868 + (0.4 * 0.25 * 1868) = *2054* Even with purple sharpness, Hellruin Glaive gets outclassed by Bounding Dalamadur. You'd also have to maintain the purple sharpness with Hellruin Glaive to do comparable damage while Bounding Dalamadur has so much white sharpness that both monsters should be almost down by the time the sharpness level has gone down, eliminating the need to sharpen your weapon during the fight. That being said, I don't think that there's that much of a difference between these two weapons, I usually get similar times when soloing this quest with Hellruin Glaive.

CantaPerMe I see that the dalamadur glaive is slightly better in the raw department, but the hellruin glaive has 240 more blast. That should be more than enough to make up for it. If you are using an edgemaster +4 OOO charm you should be able to get razor sharp in the mix as well, so it shouldnt be too hard to maintain purple sharpness. As you said, the difference is very minimal, so I guess it doesnt really matter. Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it :D

RogueNA No, I don't like the whole relic weapon & armor stuff, so I don't use them. I used a relic weapon once during my Walkthrough though because I didn't have any other G-Rank dragon elemental weapon at that time. The other exception is the Crystal Nova hammer because of the glorious sounds it makes.

they have the same raw, while c.fatty has higher blast and slightly more affinity, it's sharpness is absolutely terrible. the lightbreak press is a good all rounder, especially if you dont want to sharpen every 5 seconds or be forced into honed/sharpness plus razor sharp

Not hating on anything but i hope IG get nerfed and mounting is removed (there's a rumor about this for MHX), it's the only weapon and mechanic that works against all monsters, and even though GS is also top tier, it's not useful against monsters like Gravios or Gogmazios, IG just have no ''counters''.

shangaiify Gs is useful for absolutely everything. Gravios and Gogmazios especially because they're so slow and will leave themselves wide open for Level 3 charges.

Naruga Kuruga I don't think so, maybe online but not solo, Gravios will either protect with the gaz or do his laser vertically, and Gravios takes much more damage with elements and poison rather than raw especially the black one.

shangaiify I only use GS and Pierce HBG against Gravi, especially solo. With GS, you just need to know when to charge and when to just quickdraw and get out of there. There are also a lot more openings than just his beams. I tend to use Pierce HBG the most, however, because he's a giant Pierce dummy that stands still for most of the fight.
