Teostra Gamma is better than Drachen for melee builds with weapons reliant on elemental damage. Accomplishes the same thing but leaves room for crit element.

So is there a reason that I never seem to see Ice weapons being used against Teostra? Hunter notes say he has a 3 star weakness to both Ice and Water but I'm presuming he has something similar to Vaal Hazak needing his parts broken to be weak to Dragon. Maybe he's only 3 star to ice when his Flame Aura is down?

Master's Touch/Crit Element builds don't leave much room for the Release that Taroth water needs or the 10 less affinity you get from losing the augment slots. You just can't get Master's Touch, Crit Element, 100% affinity, water attack up and Release in the same build.

I have a question, how do you deal with the tail on mobs pushing you away as it flails when you use Dual Blades, or S&S? I rarely get good time on the tail because as they flop around, the tail pushes me away, and I lose half my attacks.

Whats this?Some kind of mod to reduce the enemy health by 9/10? Its impossible to kill this quick,i use mostly the exact same set and it took 30 minutes to kill it solo. *I searched on the internet,this was BEFORE Iceborne,so maybe the enemies got a HUGE health boost.

It has nothing to do with the water element. The way Teostra works is that he can enter a powered up state which you can tell by his glowing horns (example 1:42) . During this stage, he will do the supernova after ~15 attacks. If you however knock him down before he gets to attack 15 times by doing enough damage to the head (example 2:32) it will force him out of the powered up state and prevent the supernova. Another example can be seen at 3:40 where he entered the powered up state but got knocked out of it almost immediately. That being said though, I would still highly recommend using water element against Teostra since he's very weak to it.

Duel blades are fun but seem to struggle against monsters whose weak points aren't low to the ground; I love them vs Xeno (for example) but hate them against Djo

djo is easy with dual as well, bring pit and shock traps, flash too. He go down fast with traps, unlike elder unaffected by traps. I hate djo too cuz I main dual. add in status weapons for faster kill like sleep then bomb or paralysis. Avoid the front when using pit trap. He reminds me of anjaneth. When I started as LR i had a hard time with anja using dual as well

shad0w8 it depends, g rank usually gives more moves. All AT have boosted auras ( Teos flame, vaals effluvia) but that annoying shit isn’t in g rank. They do hit a little less hard tho

Good hunt, but was that really TA or just TA rules? There were a couple parts where it went bad, so you can definitely do better like sub6 if the hunt goes well, perhaps even kill it before it starts flying back to the nest if you use Daora like you did... PS: For current stuff on PC, what Kulve weapons do you suggest for each type of SA, DB, LBG, HBG, Bow and Lance? I'm interested in both DPS and support... Currently, as far as KT weps go, I'm in love with the Sleep GS (I use Wyvern for DPS) and Para LS (I use Jho/DivSlash for DPS) and just looking to spruce up my gameplay with some more variety besides GS/LS/Support Lance, mainly DBs/SA at this point thanks to your Jho run and this lol

Nice work Canta But with duals you want to stay longer in demon mode. Diablos B with 1 sprint deko gives you +3 sprint = -50% stamina. You can stay twice so long in demon mode. Rest dragon a set for krit eye weakpoint and so.

That's not really necessary here. He still managed to be in demon mode basically every time he attacked. The diabolos armour isn't really efficient and overall he would lose on the damage side if it were to use that piece of armour. He would have to give up either master's touch or crit element.

You will lose a lot of DPS(Cannot build Master's Touch, less CE, more time sharpening), and if you know how to manage Demon Mode correctly, Marathon Runner and Stamina Surge are not needed.
