Proper speedrun attempt this time. Not entirely clean and I missed one of the boulders but I'm happy that I still got a decent time on my first try, leveling her all the way from Lv1 to 6 was quite a pain.

Canta, do you level up her pursuit from 1 to 6 on solo?! How do you do it? I once tried to solo the entire siege and it took me nearly 3 hours to get to pursuit 4. I had to stop for the night because it was driving me insane.

Could make the exact same set with critical element for the cost of only one level of handicraft by just using a Variation of the standard DB crit ele set: Azure Rath b, Rath b, Teo b, Kulve b, Death Stench b, Masters Charm III. Decorations: 2x crit boost, 4x expert, 2x ice attack, 1x polish. Around 15% more dps on Kulve once she's molten, which is huge. No idea why Canta didn't go for that.

Mostly because fashion. Also, since it's a dual element DB your element value is effectively halfed so the damage you lose out on without crit element is marginal

Hyperion808 Gaming lol if u want an easier time, you can use weapons with a counter like the longsword, lance, charge blade. It becames very easy soloing kulve if you have one of these weapons. Insect glaive can also leap over almost all kulve’s attacks or at least away from them

@@angelomendoza6666 yea so what i have found out by researching online is to have a thunder bow like kadachi or the one that drops from kulve until you take off the golden plating. then farcast back to camp and switch to legia snowfletcher. it really helps the consistent dps on the horns.

I would personally say it is one of the best to fight kulve with, as soon as she does the floor is lava beam just jump out of there never have to worry about it, it has some great dps and can hit her horns at ALL times.

Whoever said that probably has no idea how to use the glaive nor maximize potential damage from both kinsect and the glaive itself (power types can deal quite a fair amount of damage on their own)

They've done an awesome job of making all weapons effective. I've been running kulve with a lot of different weapons and they all seem to shine on this fight. The IG has been one of the most fun and effective for me. You can harass him constantly. His size makes it easy to keep your buffs up. When he's molten, your ground combos do big damage and when everyone is running from his fire, you're airborne doing horn damage. If you're ever thinking about trying a new weapon in this game, just go for it man. They're all good.

Just wondering based on this fight, I've not done it since I'm so busy with work and will be for quite some time so I won't be able to fight her any time soon but does attacking the legs help chip off the gold plating on the horns? Or is just to stagger her so you can hit the horns? I know ice is strong against the legs. Also for when the gold is chipped off does hitting the horns only complete the quest?

O.O never gets old watching you annihilate a monster like that. I wish I could solo this fight. Everytime i join randoms, they die to Kulve Taroth...wasting all 4 lives. The 4th life being feline insurance. It's the reason I haven't been running the fight much. To be fair, I use lance so I don't really have to try that hard.

I don't think HR acts as a good indicator of skill - I've played with HR60 - 80's who play better than the HR100+ hunters I've bumped into. In my experience, I stuck with the HR70-100 bracket as it's a 50/50 area - expect a lot of carts, or be pleasantly surprised - my friend I play with is around HR130 and they cart far more than a CB user should imo

Ray Blade I got a rarity 8 hammer with 990 base raw and around 420 lighting as a hidden element, it can be brought up to around 660 lighting with a few bolt gems. It melts her coat

I think DBs benefit a ton from kulve now since a lot of them now come with decent element and the kulve set is pretty much ideal for existing dual blades (since so many of them come with hidden status/element for some reason)

I have so many Questions... 1. This isnt arch tempered, right? If so, does your playstyle also work on arch tempered? 2. Why dont you use cannons in step 1 to break the horn plating earlier? It shouldnt eat too much time I think. 3. I saw that you focused on the claws until her mantle mollified. Does it increase the chance to mollify her? 4. Why dont you use Partbreaker in your set? I am not the best player, and my questions are just for me to learn more about this game. But anyway, congratulations for that fast run ^^

I'd advise against following anything in this video. This run was done shortly after she was released for the first time so no one had a good understanding of how this fight worked and as a result this run is horribly unoptimized. If you want to know more about how to deal with AT Kulve Taroth I'd recommend to check out 'JinJinx & Tuna's youtube channel, they have a lot of in depth guides and set recommendation for Kulve Taroth

Its definitely worth it on a fully elemental weapon. The Fire and Ice weapon is half blast and half ice so the effect will only apply to one of the blades which is why it is not necessary on this build

How did you manage to break its horns that fast ? You were focusing a lot on its arms in the first phases and I assume we have to deal a lot of damages to the head. I have yet to scratch its horn, this monster is a nightmare for blademasters. I try to hit the head whenever it is possible, but it is often out of reach.

from what I understand the horn break mechanic is similar to other elder dragons like Teo or Kirin where you have to deal a certain amount of damage to them first before you can break the horn at all so I just went full dps on the legs and only focused on the head when it's in reach

It may seems a bit lame but if you don't want to level her from lv1 to 6 you can try to find a room where they are already at lv 6 and then solo her. Plus, considering you're kinda famous in the MH community, asking ppl to level her up with you and then go solo shouldn't be that difficult. Or maybe you just want to do all the work alone and that's fine. :o Anyway, GG for the run, I'm also using DBs against her, hope I can hit this sub 10 before the event ends.

I did consider doing that at first but decided to level her from 1-6 solo as well just in case someone who doesn't understand how the raid works decides to say something like "you didn't really solo it, there are other people in the session" so I can just refer them to the stream in which I soloed the entire thing from Lv1 up to this run

Try getting an armour skill called "Scholar," which doubles the rate at which research levels are increased from collecting tracks.

Wait, no Partbreaker? Everybody goes on and on about NEEDING to have Partbreaker for this fight, yet you seem to be very successful without it. I don't really understand the mechanics of this fight. You continue aiming for her front legs after she's shed her gold, but what does that accomplish? Does it contribute to breaking her horns? Or does it just lead to a stagger which gives you a large opening to attack her horns?

Front legs are always weak to ice regardless of phase so it saves me the trouble of having to change gear midquest.

Because this is the level 6 quest (The highest level of the quest) her parts are incredibly easy to break. Level 1 they are quite tough to break and through each level get slightly easier to break until level 6 where the parts more or less just fall off. Part Breaker is used mostly for the horns and so you can break the horns by level 3/4. Also as for aiming for the front legs she needs to hit a damage threshold in order to move her to her 4th area, so the front legs are the easiest to hit and give high damage.
