Wow, that is gorgeous! Even the box is beautiful. I wish I had begun my Christian life with the KJV. I do love the language. I only switched from NIV to ESV because of the new church I began attending. At this point, it would confuse my poor brain to have different wording. But wow, a Bible like this and in KJV is a work of art.

Nothing compares to the KJV. I keep going back to that Majestic beautiful Word of GOD. Growing up Roman Catholic - I heard glimpses of Latin and Beautiful Classical Music but the KJV takes you into another realm. I hope you’ll always get back in when the Spirit moves you! 🌟🌈

Just compare them. They simply do not say the same things. One is God's holy, pure, inspired, and preserved word; while the rest are barely readable yet lousy counterfeits. Just use Jesus' words, found in John 5:39, as a simple guide to what the Scriptures should be. Then compare the trash against the TRUTH in verses like Luke 2:33, & 43, John 1:18, Acts 4:27, & 30, Romans 9:5, Colossians 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16, Revelation 22:16 referenced with Isaiah 14:12, and then 2 Timothy 2:15 for the sorry topper. The modern perversions denigrate Christ's virgin birth, Sonship to God the Father, the power of His precious blood, His diety, and their translators do not want you to study the truth, nor to rightly divide it. Don't be a chiken, or lazy about it, study it out prayerfully for yourself! This is clearly satan's scheme to distract believers with "some new thing" (Acts 17:21), and publishers with profit$ (1 Timothy 6:9-10) from selling books (bibles), while packing the pulpits with educated oratory entertainers, and loading the pews with entertainment seeking Biblical dim-wits, who couldn't compare any two spiritual things with each (1 Corinthians 2:13). They don't grow-up spiritually, they are content with "oh well, at least I'm saved", but have no further personal testimony! Christians who adhere to modern bible perversions usually don't possess the strength of character to look a lost person in the eye, and tell them that they are lost and are going to Hell without Jesus Christ, without being born-again! God's word strengthens a person to speak as one having authority, and not as one of the scribes. That's because it is God's Authority, Final Authority. But you'll have to come to that conclusion yourself!

Oh no...just when I thought my great Canterbury was the best, this one with the yapp just makes this one a standout!! And I'm so glad they kept the black and red combination. Perfection. I do wish that the Schuylers had a darker font like the Cambridge/Allan bibles. Excellent review, thank you.

Just preordered the Schuyler Canterbury KJV, marbled mahogany, full yapp. I am so excited! This will be my first Bible from Evangelical Bible. ❤️. It sure was hard choosing the color. They are all so beautiful! The art gilt edging with the red under gold 🥰 and the ornamental drop caps 😍! I almost went the imperial blue, but the red under gold art gilt edging one me over. It glows! 🔥 The black leather with the red ribbons, is absolutely classically stunning too. I really love those red ribbons. The struggle was real. LOL. I just had to go with one before they sold out.

Beautiful Jesus TV Thank You for the offer, but I’ve waited so long for this and it is my favorite translation. That with the full yapp made me forego buying a couple of other ones in favor of waiting for this one. Plus the bigger print while being slimmer might make it my go to over my PS Canterbury. If I change my mind I’ll definitely let you know first ! Good luck though. These days the money would see a lot of people through these difficult times. Hope someone takes you up on it.!

IV got a kjv with 3 translations and a guy named dore''s illustrations in it. Gold page trim. It's very nice and the things I'm finding blending thru the pages is a whole other talk on its own.

Nice review. I think I like the more ‘pebbly’ grain of the old one and the narrower yap too. I am in two minds about the paper. The 28gsm paper of my newer NIV Clarion Is superb, so if it’s like that then all good. (However, older Clarions had 27gsm paper and could be prone to curly corners In some conditions.) Either way, both of those Schuylers are v. handsome books.

I have learned from watching you that just a very dark print like the Cambridge TURQUOISE is NOT the only thing to consider.. but ALSO the white space in the space around the letters and between the lines in the text is ALSO important and I think in that regard the Schuyler may be AS Good AS It Gets.

Excellent review Randy. Gorgeous Bible! Very small ghosting price to pay for a thinner Bible. Nice to know that ghosting is not a concern with this one. The better contrast also a plus. Still does not looks as readable as the Turquoise at least on video. But I would still like to have one. I wonder if this has better paper than the Treveris.

I had the original one when it first came out, the print was too gray and not dark enough for my eyes, so I gave it away. The new one appears about the same. The turquoise print seems to be bolder and darker. I am also looking at the Cameo, although the font is only 8pt, it appears to be the darkest and boldest font.

They need to make Canterbury in a full yap in a concord size. It’ll end up being a 10point font like the Treveris. Now that’ll be the prefect size bible

Bible Buying Guide my go to read is the NASB but the formatting is very aggressive. Just block text, hardly any breaks in the block for poetry or conversation back and forth in the gospels. The NIV has a more pleasant format. I want send them a letter regarding this issue. Seeing the breaks in the text block in a paragraph format actually is a lot lot more pleasant to the eyes and allows for a lot more reading. Getting lost in the word as they say. 😅 Love your reviews.

Bingo!! Countless people have been screaming for a mid size quentel/Canterbury over the years. But for whatever reason Schuyler won’t listen. I left Schuyler because i got tired of trying to use one size or the other but being always uncomfortable with either. The Treveris IS the perfect size Bible. Just wish it had references. I find myself missing them when the NT quotes the OT. I get that it’s a reader, but I couldn’t stay with it because of that. But man what a bible.

the Canterbury KJV seems like a nice premium bible... but what ruins it for me, is that it does not have the full features of Authorized Version ... the marginal notes of the translators are omitted...

How do compare font and readability to the Allan's 53 randy? I been waiting on this but curious if I would just get the turquoise because of thickness. Bad experience with turquoise calf split, gave it away was coming apart, have 4 53s. Wanting readability and good size

Hi Randy I like all of your videos as they are very informative. I recently purchased a NKJV Cambridge Topaz blue goat skin bible and would like to purchase a KJV bible to enhance my studies. From what I could see on KZbin, I really like the Cambridge Turquoise goat skin KJV and the Schuyler Canterbury goat skin KJV; I also like the both of them in calfskin leather. Based on your experience with these two bibles, which one do you think I should purchase or which one do you prefer and why? Appreciate the content your are putting out to support those who are in search of God's truth. God bless

Thank you! That's a tough one. I love both, and you can't go wrong with either one. I lean toward the Canterbury because of the cleaner layout, single-column Psalms, glossary, and note pages. It doesn't have the translator's footnotes, but it does have section headings and around 10k more references.

It's a nice Bible, but I prefer center column references. I'm so glad they are starting make 2k Denmark a standard though. And, I am one of those who doesn't like the large/full yapp.

Would you sell that previous edition of the Canterbury? The cream paper and lighter font just have a massively superior "vintage" looking quality that particularly suits the KJV. If you're interested in selling it, or if anyone reading this is for that matter, I will pay double the original price.

Hi Nathan. I just got a 53. It's 36gsm and some of the best paper I've seen. the main difference is the thickness. The paper in this Canterbury is 28gsm Indopaque. It's the best paper under 36gsm. it has a coating and titanium pigment to increase opacity. The 53 is slightly rougher. Both are excellent.

Hello what is the difference between a Schuyler Canterbury and the Schuyler Quentel? I noticed the one Bible has a beautiful design by the Chapters. Can you get the exact same design in an NKJV and an NLT version? Which Bible is softer and easier to read between the two of these that you gave the review on. I’m very interested in getting one with the red edges and one with the turquoise edging. Do you know where to get these at a reasonable price? Are the Allan Bibles any better or about the same quality Thank you.

Hi. The Canterbury is a verse-by-verse KJV with Psalms in a single column. The Quentel is all the other translations in paragraph with their standard poetic layouts. They use the same font's so the readability is the same. The links are in the descriptions or in the written reviews in the description. Allan is the same quality. The main difference is they don't design anything of their own. They reprint or rebind designs from other publishers.

The Topaz is more portable, but just barely. It's hard to choose between them because they're so different. The Canterbury has a nicer setting for Psalms and I like that it has a glossary and pages for notes. I also like the section headings and the idea of a smaller version and wide margin version for a combo. The Topaz has lots of writing space on the page and translation footnotes. For readability, they're about the same.

Im buying my first Bible I out of no where felt the urge to buy 1 and stop looking to other people for the word of god and get it from god him self, I’m sad to say the Bible has always been intimating to me cause I easily get confused when reading it, would this be a good Bible to buy, I was told reference bibles would be good for me so if I don’t understand something it would explain what I’m stuck on, I need help. Hi William. I highly recommend a reference Bible. Schuyler Bibles like this one are excellent for this. They're made the last and have excellent materials. The large print is easy to read. If you want the most references possible, then you'd be interested in the KJV Large Print Westminster from Trinitarian Bible Society. It's a larger Bible than the Schuylers, but it has 200,000 contextual cross-references.

Excellent question. I'm only guessing, but it could have something to do with their marketing. Schuyler is their brand, so the Canterbury is the KJV they would promote the most on Facebook and in their newsletters, and ask for reviews the most.

@@Airik1111bibles oh don’t get me wrong man, I LOVE the layout and the yapp! Just wish Schuyler would hear the masses and give us mid size Canterburys and Quentels. Or just bump up the size of the PSQs/PSCs. I think one of the aspects of the Canterbury in particular is that the KJV audience is primarily older. So why make such a small edition that most can’t read? Time and time again I see folks go crazy over the PSC only to eventually abandon it because they couldn’t take the small size over time. But the full size is SO overwhelming it’s very difficult to handle and read. I actually had to leave Schuyler because I got tired of trying to force myself to use either size :( had to go to Church Bible Publishers and their perfectly sized hand-size Turquoise. But I sure do miss the Schuyler “luxury” :(
