Hopefully but these police departments have long histories of putting on this kind of show for the public while behind the scenes giving them a pat on the back and telling them not to worry about it. Proctor has been "suspended without pay." That really means he can use his vacation time during this time to keep getting a paycheck. He's only losing out on overtime. We'll see what happens to him in the long term. I've got higher hopes he loses his job due to the text messages than I do he'd get in trouble for planting evidence.

If Mass is serious about being 'tough on guns' I expect to hear some politicians demand answers. Was the gun ever found? Where was it? Both improper (unsecured) storage of a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm, on person or in an auto, while intoxicated are crimes.. for regular folks at least. Secured storage is very specific.
