Thanks for sharing this video. It was very informative. Do you think it would be a good idea to attend the upcoming Mega Show in HK in October?
@lamar_duffy5 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your goals! I haven’t been to the mega show tho. I would say that if you have been to the canton fair then I might try a different fair to see some new suppliers.

Hi I was wondering about your stay how much was is and it was a flat ? It's was good ? Also the price?
@lamar_duffy2 жыл бұрын
Hello there! Its actually quite inexpensive! If you stay away from the convention center (we stayed in an Airbnb a few miles away) and take the subway, you will be able to find a cheap place. All of the food around the city is also good and inexpensive as well! You can travel to China (or anywhere really) on a budget that works for you. Flights are the most expensive.

Lamar I just watched your video, and I think is pretty awesome. I have a bunch of question. I would like to start my own business as retail and I was wondering is it good idea to go to the Canton Fear to check products out. I have no idea how to start o what product to sell, you know. I tried to register to the canton fear on their website but apparently I have to apply for a budget first then I believe I have to wait some time before the badge. Now do I need to have a business in order to attend the fear? and my other question is, About how much did you spent in order to attend the fear? and what do you do? if you don't mind to answer. Thank you

Hi Ernesto! When you say "retail business" do you mean online or offline? You could easily fill a offline store with products from the canton fair. If you are talking about an online business, you would be better off doing market research first so that you know what types of products/factories you need to find. Otherwise you will be very overwhelmed. I do cover those topics extensively within my course: lamar.podia.com/amazon-fba-launchpad-course Yes, you need to have a business in order to attend the fair and you do need to "wait" for them to approve you. You can do the trip inexpensively depending on how comfortable you are in a foreign country that doesn't speak that much english. Ex. taking local buses vs high speed trains, staying in a Westin vs airbnb, taking the cab vs the subway to and from the fair. There are so many factors it's hard to say how much it will cost for sure. Here is a rough idea on my experience: high speed train from HK to Guangzhou = ~$50-75, Airbnb $75/night, $10-15/per meal/per person, subway to and from fair $1. Hope that helps!

I will be heading to the Canton fair to the phase 2 and 3 in October. I booked a place in Hong Kong thinking I’ll spend one day in canton for each phase and take the train back at night. Do you think that’s too rush? I know people who’ve spent single days and some who have spent a week there. What are your thoughts? Thanks
@lamar_duffy5 жыл бұрын
I think you will be very tired to commute from HK. The fair is enormous and you will be walking all day. There are a lot of hotels right next to the complex that are very convenient. How many days you spend there depends of what product categories you’re interested in seeing. The first time I went I wanted to see everything and that was almost impossible within the 4 days.

Is the Canton Fair for Textiles on May 1, 2019 at the same place?
@lamar_duffy5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jade! Likely. You’d have to check the canton website for the correct Phase for textiles.

how much is it for airbnb during the fair time.
@lamar_duffy6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kiyan! Our Airbnb was about 60$/night which is pretty reasonable for what we got (loft apartment with two beds, shower, kitchen, etc) in the center of the city. You can also find cheaper - there are a good amount of options in Guangzhou. From our place, it was about 30 minutes by subway to the canton fair!

Lamar Charles very nice how long were you in Guangzhou for. When is the next time you will be in China and how to get in contact with you.

I was there for 2 weeks. Basically phase 2 and 3 of the canton fair! I probably will not be back in Guangzhou until the next canton fair Spring or Fall..
