This is what I've loved about drum corps for 50+ years. The brass sound has just continued to get better and more beautiful. You'll hear guys my age talking about how it isn't the same without our old single valve G bugles, and it shouldn't be a drum corps any more, but this is the sound I could always hear in my head, and even in the 60s I could hear this when guys like Martin, Swan, Dorritie, Simpson, Hightower, Chalmus et al. picked up their primitive bugles and made incredible sounds. I always thought that we'd get to this. I was fortunate enough to work with some great lines at Bayonne and Boston and we made this happen at times, although the instruments hadn't been upgraded yet, and we had a total of two, or even sometimes one instructor for the section. Listening to these young people makes me feel the connection all the way back to when I started in 1960 on an old Getzen one valve and "slip slide" baritone. (I still have it, and toot on it once in a while, just to remind me how friggin good my trombone is). Nice work Bloo. Good to remember where you came from. Can't wait to see you at DCI East this year. Gotta check to see if you get near Boston. Keeping it pure and beautiful there, guys (and of course girls). You kids rock.

This is awesome but if I heard this in person I’d possibly cry, hearing music from a band in person is such a different experience
