Because English has only 'know' for everything, to have two different know's in cantonese can be a little confusing for a native English learner.Good idea Amanda to have this lesson!

@beardan76 but in English we have 'can I' (is it possible for me to ...) and 'may I ...' (am I permitted to ...), but it seems Cantonese only has 'Ngo5 hoi5 ji2' for both. Having said that, 'can I' in English is often misused for 'may I'!

Yes, you are right! As in written word they are all different characters but the pronunciation is the same
