This management is different their thinking about the future not the present benning was always about get into the playoffs and see what happens but Allvin is about winning the cup Making a competitive team year after year

And that’s what what we need. Benning didn’t do much after 2011 and it seems like this new management wants to push forward and not just make a good team but a playoff contenting team. Ya we might not win right away but I’m happy that their actually taking the time to build up the team

Benning, whether he meant it or not, whether it was true or not, just always came across as tentative, guarded, and lacking confidence. Allvin shows maturity, oozes confidence, and seems to have no question on his direction. It looks like we got a great management team in place, FINALLY, after a couple of decades of generally HORRIBLE mismanagement (whose ever fault that was). Good luck to the team, that they can make the difference for a long term solution towards a winner.

This is great content guys !! We haven't seen too much from this new group in terms of on ice moves. But in this video you can see the calmness and confidence of Patrick, the down to earth knowledge and level headedness of Cammi and even further to that seeing the Sedins and the other wealth of knowledge and experience in the rooms give us a great feeling were going in a better direction that days gone. Be it total bust or future hall of famer its good to see the deliberation and process that has gone into this very difficult draft.

Paranoia is a strong word. To say that an owner who had a strong influence on hockey ops will suddenly become neutral is wishful thinking on your part. We'll find out whether management has complete autonomy as time goes on.

I think Jim Benning got caught in the numbers game as in he wanted to do it himself with not a lot of help or the Aqualinies wanted him to do it himself without a whole Lotta help The biggest thing I see in this new management group is they actually put together a huge team of voices and knowledge, again either something JB didn’t do and/or wasn’t allowed to anyways JB is the past looking forward to the future, now if I can just be alive when the Canucks actually win a Stanley Cup :-)

Drafting is one thing but the biggest issue is the farm. Seems like year after year we bring up guys not yet ready for the big stage (excluding the goalies, which have been excellent drafts and farming). Canucks just seem to lack strength year after year is what I'm saying.

Lugouo penalty gone, Halak gone, Sutter gone, I think they are going to buy out Dickenson and also are going to trade Both Boeser and Miller as highly rumoured as they have to resign Horvat soon But they've already got that highly regarded Russian player so hopefully he is good I want to see what they get for Boeser and Miller

100% why Rutherford took the job was when francesco flew to his house and spoke with him he let him know that he can basically build the organization how he wants. Now they have an incredibly diverse and excited management team along with getting a new practice facility and upgrading the dressing rooms. Really looking forward to the future of this organization now

If they want to rebuild through the draft that’s great, but you shouldn’t do it while picking 15th overall and having a pretty good NHL team. I watched the Leafs do that for 20 years

Can someone in management tell me how the Colorado Avalanche, was legally allowed to sign Cale Makar to an Illegal entry-level contract ? Within the same year he was drafted, he signed for $8 million/3 years. That’s illegal.

It wasn't an illegal contract. It was the year after he was drafted (he went and won the hobey baker in college in his d+1 year). He got over 8 mil because of performance bonuses that basically all top picks have in their contracts. Most just don't achieve them

Step ONE, for the scouting department (pro dept.): Find a top 4 D-man to play with Hughes... This is getting REALLY, REALLY stupid watching 3rd pairing D-men playing along side one of the best talents in the league. PLEASE stop matching him up with bottom feeders. (I can't imagine what Hughes must be thinking every night, "getting" to play with the likes of Hamonic, Poolman and Benn ... ugh! That'll get you up for the game, eh? (NOT).

There's a really good chance Vancouver will have to give up their 2022 1st round draft pick (15th overall). I could see Yzerman taking on Tyler Myers contract of 2 years for the 15th overall draft pick. There's a slight chance Yzerman might be willing to take on OEL's contract at 50% retained as well.
