I moved to AZ a few months ago from the East coast and made plans to visit all the wonderful Western sights out here. Canyon de Chelly is definitely one stop I've made. I visited both the North and South Rims and one thing that I found incredible is the absolute silence, so quiet. It is a reverent place and one feels that spirituality in the presence of the history and beauty of this area. Well worth the visit.

This place is so nice. I enjoy the entire 4 corners area. The energy of the site and the raw harsh beauty of the land scape is awesome

I believe the ruins belonged to a ancient people called “The Anasazi”. The ruins are so high up because at that time thats where ground zero was. After almost 2000 years of water washing away the sediment. You get cliff dwellings all across AZ. Thats how old these people were. Its fascinating. I grew up there as a navajo kid. Love this video 🙏

swastika is an ancient symbol used by people all over the world. it transcends time and physical distance and is found on all continents. it is likely one of the most ancient if not *the* most ancient symbol humanity has ever used. it represents the sun and the rotation of our universe (rotation of the night sky and the stars). ancient peoples were big on astronomy as it was the only sure way to measure directions and the passage of time (changing of seasons).

I have lived on the Navajo Reservation as a VISTA Volunteer back in 1966 and even THEN I understood the history better than the woman who is telling this history. All she says about Spider Woman is about a fairy tale??? Get your facts straight, lady. I am a Bilegaana, I don't deny it, but I have only the greatest respect for the Navajos and their history.

I think this was an ancient giant petrified forest with trees rising more than three km in height!!! All these mountainous structures appear to look like tree stumps and are all on native reservations.

I live in Arizona and this swastika symbol, it's a common thing that these groups, it's more, I have a old old picture of a basketball team I used it as a logo, they had it on their game shirt (you can find in internet the picture). Spanish Army? The Battle of Canyon de Chelly was fought in 1864 as part of the Navajo Wars. It was a successful operation for the United States Army which precipitated the Long Walk and was the final major military engagement between the Navajo and the Americans. The battle ended with the fall of the main Navajo settlements of Canyon de Chelly in present-day northern Arizona

I wonder why Hitler used the Swastika, doesn't Buddhist monks use that symbol, as a peace symbol ?
@whitebase2365
@whitebase2365 5 жыл бұрын
This is the common misunderstanding. The Buddhist symbol is a mirror image of Nazi swastika and not written in 45 degree.
@MrJm323
@MrJm323 4 жыл бұрын
Hitler, as a boy living in Austria, attended a school at a monastery called Lambach Abbey. This Benedictine abbey had a certain style swastika carved in its stone and woodwork structure, apparently in several places. Their swastika had its arms at a 45 degree angle (kind of like fishhooks). Well, you can search it by typing in "Lambach Abbey swastika" and click "images", to see it. Buddhists also use the swastika. You can see it prominently displayed below the roof lines (in the gable) of many of their temples in Korea for example. Also, there used to be (before World War II) a red swastika organization which mirrored the red cross organization. You can still find old pictures of Chinese nurses with red on white swastika armbands. They weren't Nazis of course; they were working for the local red swastika society. In any event, swastikas are very ancient and ubiquitous symbols that may have originally represented the sun as well as the "wheel of life". (Hence, "sun-wheels".) The idea of banning it is insane -- and would be an obvious violation of religious freedom.
