Fantastic scenery. This video triggered memories of watching vintage Western movies from the 1930's 1950's There was always a panoramic scene with the U.S. Cavalry and Indians battling it out with those unusual rock formations in the background. Cinemascope was the big movie thrill of the day with wide-angle shots. Thanks for the memories, Maria and crew.

I find it to be beautiful and awe-inspiring. And you are beautiful, too, Maria 😀 😍!! Thank you for sharing portions of your journeys with us 😀. I always look forward to watching your videos 😀😁. Absolutely amazing, the change of scenery is total in Utah, we could just as easily be on some unknown asteroid floating in space-time, which takes us back millions of years to the original earth, or exploring a plain on the planet Mars. The only other place I know of that evokes such destitution is Ayers Rock in the Australian desert, the only downside is that it is not presented by such a magnificent "globe-trotter" as you, my beautiful Maria. Thank you both for this destination off the beaten track. 💌🤩✌️

That is the petrified graveyard of an ancient, giant forest. The trees were so tall, they went to the edge of space. The wood contains high amounts of silica, brought up by the roots. The roots themselves look like giant crystals in many places, which is why the park service won't let you explore underneath them. The PTB still keep a lid on earth's history for some reason.

So annoying to have to weave through all the tourists standing in the road taking pictures there! Get a picture and get out of the road!
@AltayDagli-y1z4 ай бұрын
Overrated tourist trap not worth visiting. The so called scenic road is not a road at all. It is an uneven hard-surface dusty desert covered with a thin layer of gravel at some parts. Rather than a road, imagine the Ford truck commercial in which the truck is driven on rough mountains. You have to keep your eyes on the road every second to steer clear of big potholes or big stones, otherwise you can easily wreck your car. Which means you can not enjoy the scenery if driving. God forbid, if you have a car problem there, It would take days to get your car towed to the nearest towns, Mexican Hat or Kayenta, and get fixed. Even if you manage to survive the 18 miles of pothole wasteland without incident, you would be spending the next days worrying and watching for potential car problems. It wrecks your sense of security during your road trip. No one wants to have car problem in the middle of nowhere in that part of the country. It could ruin your holiday. The alternative, joining the tours offered by the park, does not seem to be very attractive either. It is an open truck tour on a very dusty and rough “road”. Your hair, skin and clothes are covered with red dust. You can wear mask and head gear to protect your lung and hair, but other part of your body will be covered with a layer of dust. I do not know why they do not make an effort to make a decent road. One may argue they do not want to over develop tourism, but they have to make decision whether they want tourism or not. People not likely to make a decision to visit there based on the loop road condition, but they should. After you visit the Arches and Canyonlands, Monument Valley looks very ordinary anyway. You won’t miss much if you skip. But, if you really want to visit, you can have the best views from the highway without entering the park. For example, the Forest Gump point probably has the best view of the entire park and it is outside of the park. It is not easy to visit the park, because it is out of the way. But, it is not worth the extra effort to go out of your way to visit it. The national parks in Utah are much more beautiful.
@mariaexotictravel4 ай бұрын
You are so right about the road conditions in the Monument Valley Park! They could make a decent road, but that would ruin the "guided tours" business with the open trucks! We drove very carefully through all the potholes and were lucky to make it through in one piece! A good business idea would be to have a car wash immediately after you exit from the park!

@@mariaexotictravel yes, car wash would be necessary
