Obviously missed this video when initially released but interesting to hear about the bearing issues. Good after sales service by the sound of it which is good. Some nice camera work and camera angles and loving the drone footage. Stunning location to cycle. Thanks for sharing 👍

Good to hear your update re repair as on the previous video when you mentioned it, it wasn't clear if Canyon were prepared to let you go down the LBS route. Good that you gave a positive update after letting them agree a suitable resolution too, many would moan and complain to the World before allowing the problem to be resolved.

Hi, like the videos! I have the same bike , arrived about a month ago. Have you had any issues with the frame creaking? Have checked all the bolts etc but I can’t seem to isolate what the issue is
@LakeDistrictcyclist3 ай бұрын
Hi thank you for watching, I’ve got no issues with creaking, if unsure contact canyon and say you want to take in shop to check out 😊

this is an exception not the norm. I have very positive reviews of my Ultimate and know folks who love their endurace.

A Good result regarding the rear wheel bearings,The garmin and light mount does it sit level with the bars or does it angle up a bit?
@LakeDistrictcyclist4 ай бұрын
Yes, could have said wear and tear maybe but glad I got money back. And yes it angles upwards I find it ok though
@tootles744 ай бұрын
@@LakeDistrictcyclist cool i prefer it angled slightly myself,i've been looking at ebay ones for my Ultimate but they all seem to fit flat, this would be a better option and with the light intergration it looks pretty slick .

@tootles74 I like the strength of it, my Orbea one had it snap off a few times 😊

Spd ones, there the best as you can walk in them. Take a look at these types www.sigmasports.com/clothing/shoes/gravel you don’t have to buy these but will give you an idea

Glad to hear Canyon are covering the cost. I'm running a three bikes (emtb, Xc and Gravel) ones is a Lappiere XR5.9 xc bike bought in March. My rear wheel bearings are a bit rough and have a little bit of play and Raleigh who deal with Lappiere in the Uk just referred me to Paul's Cycles who I bought it from. Paul's suggested that bearings are a consumable item and as such only have a 90 day warranty! Which I think is absolute nonsense, even claiming its standard in the bike industry. They did offer a £25 'goodwill' gesture towards the repair but I was quite annoyed and instead left them a poor review as I can do the bearing myself anyway. I think I'll be avoiding both Lappiere and Paul's Cycles in the future 😂

That’s a shame, when you are paying that much for bike should at least expect parts to last at least 12 months imo I will avoid them too

Hi I got a medium and 5ft 10 with instep of 79cm seat is at its lowest setting and if a small was in stock that would of been better for me

I find that Di2 battery lasts a really long time and it shifts faster than Sram Etap. But etap uses 2 batteries, so if your rear derailleur dies you can swap the battery with the front derailleur. I've done that on a ride once...thankfully. With that said, Di2 battery should last 600-650 miles. If you're in a flat area like you claim you probably arent shifting much, since there are no hills. Hi it's Billy from Cumbria, I came across this about batteries dying ,very good to know. Above is what 1D12 bike owner said
@LakeDistrictcyclist4 ай бұрын
Yes I use mine a bit more as you know Cumbria isn’t flat but I always check before going out. Thank you Billy 😊

You know what, I just realized my cables last forever and they've never run out of batteries. Mechanical love. My rim brakes never do the ching ching or tick tick sounds and never need bleeding. 😮

@LakeDistrictcyclist I think these bike parts are from Taiwan, my specialized sirrus is from Taiwan, let's hope I don't have to fork out any money for issues with bike especially after the warranty runs out in two years, my specialized sirrus is better built than the canyon endurace cf8 bike Not been on it yet,just waiting for sun to poke through, have a lovely day 😄

Wheels bearings fail, just like any bearing can fail. Fix and move on.
@LakeDistrictcyclist4 ай бұрын
I’ve never had any fail within 6 months and only summer riding, headset bearings usually get about 15-18months out of them
@hockysa4 ай бұрын
yeah but less than 6 months is within the warranty period and could be a sign of other issues. Better to have it documented and repaired by the manufacturer in case anything else goes wrong, especially when it's a bearing failing prematurely. Might be as simple as a bad bearing but there have been instances of aligment issues due to poor tolerances in bottom brackets, dropouts and wheelhubs that cause accelerated wear. Fixing it yourself in this instance could mean being stuck with a bad frame not available for warranty.
@LakeDistrictcyclist4 ай бұрын
Totally agree, also my mech hanger needed aligning due to gears sometimes missing even though I’ve micro adjusted them loads. Like you say best to get them sorted 😊
@hockysa4 ай бұрын
@@LakeDistrictcyclist yeah that's a little worrying. If you LBS has the means I would ask them if they can check alignment of the rear drop out and inspect the stays. Could just be a bent hanger but that plus the bearing is 2 coincidences.
@LakeDistrictcyclist4 ай бұрын
@hockysa yes, LBS has fixed any issues I had so hopefully sorted problem. Bike shop is best in my area so hopefully all sorted 😊
