The good ol days when Neil cussed, cars had the old engine noises, and the fun videos. Though the newer videos are still fun and entertaining, the old ones are close to my heart and memory.

I just find these after watching Neil for the last 2 or 3 years. New stuff is entertaining and I understand the switch up completely. But please Neil, make another channel for stuff like your old content. We all chance and grow up, trust me I'm old af compared to most of you. But you sound like you're, not necessarily having more fun, but being more of yourself maybe? L like I said, we all change maybe that's just not you anynore and nothing wrong with that. I just think a lot of people would enjoy new content that's more like you're old content. Either way, just keep what ur doing. It's all good.

Here in Europe, diesel fuel is cheaper than gas, so half the cars here run on diesel. Diesel cars can be more fuel efficient and produce more torque, in a lower rev range! Also, diesel cars can be more fuel efficient during long runs, so the most logical choice for long Autobahn travels or Taxi drivers who work 24/7, is diesel fuel!! Our taxis here are all diesel-powered! There are also some interesting fast diesel cars: Golf GTD (the diesel-powered alter ego of the Golf GTI, with a 2 liter turbocharged Inline 4, 190hp and 295 lb-ft!), Audi SQ7 (4 liter twin-turbocharged and electric turbo-aided diesel V8, with 435hp and 663 lb-ft!) and BMW M550d and 750d (3 liter quad-turbocharged Inline 6, with 400hp and 542 lb-ft! The previous version of this engine had three turbos! Now it has four!!)!!

Diesel burns better to get better gas mileage and better combustion. They also run way long then regularly fueled engines, for example, a semi diesel can run for two million miles, but a Volvo can last for over a good million with less maintenance.

Try driving the blue "restored" Regency towards the bottom of the list from Magic Car Sales. It behaves like the junkyard one! Doors start coming undone, body like tinfoil, and the nice paint job shows rust once wrecked. So much detail put into each one, it really is the little things that count.

Modern diesel cars have crazy gas mileage. Jeremy Clarkson of top gear took a twin turbo V6 Jaguar XJ out 800 motorway miles on one tank basically trying to burn fuel along the way, and had enough for about 200 miles more. With the VW scandal though I wouldn't expect diesel cars to come back to America anytime soon though

Diesel is much more efficient than regular fuel and is only a few cents more per gallon, for example a VW Passat can get 52 miles to the gallon on diesel
@andrewschuster3830
@andrewschuster3830 8 жыл бұрын
I am currently in college for high performance and racing technology. Diesel if tuned correctly will run better and is more efficient than a gasoline engine. The only byproduct at the end of the exhaust would be heat. Although diesel is more expensive, it lasts longer than a typical gasoline engine. When a Diesel engine "rolls coal" it is a toga power loss due to the fact that it is unburnt fuel.

Ah yes. First off I want to say: I love the 2 Oldsmobile videos you've made. Great videos. And yes: GM had diesel cars in the early 80's this regency at 9:00 being one of them. And no one liked them... too complicated and just a piece of crap to be honest. The same with the first fuel injected Chryslers in the early 80's. They were so bad that people actually bought them back in to have the cars refitted with the carburetor.

Well, the gas and diesel prices in Europe are way higher than in the US. Diesel engines are not only more fuel efficient than gasoline ones, but also cleaner, despite of the black cloud they release. Also, the fact that they "refuse to start up in cold weather" is false. True, below 40°F it turns into some jelly-ish thing, but that's what glow plugs are for. Also diesel engines perform way better than gasoline ones at high altitudes, where the air is thinner, since they are more permissive with the air/fuel ratio, while a gas engine has to feed less fuel to keep its ratio perfect.

A diesel vehicle is more efficient actually. Yes they're expensive to work on and maintenance, but you get more miles in between oil changes, you get a more durable engine(most diesels can go for nearly a million miles), you get wayyyy better gas mileage(Like a 3500 duramax silverado usually averages about 18 hwy, which is amazing for a 7,000lb truck), and they are actually better for the environment because they burn the by product produced by the process of making gasoline.

The point of a diesel is yeah it's more expensive to buy but it lasts longer so you travel further and it has more torque then a petrol engine, this is why all trucks have diesel engines, they will travel further then a petrol and they have more torque then a petrol and that's what you want for carrying heavy loads and goods, overall a diesel works out more economical in the long run considering diesel is more expensive to buy. So if you put a diesel engine in a car because a car is lighter it goes for miles and miles further then a petrol before you have to fill back up aging. And just like to say i'v been following your channel now since the days when you only had around 5000 subs and i'm so glad for you now that you have over 25.000 subs you are doing well keep it up and i look forward to the next one bye bye.

To answer your question the advantages to diesel cars are they tend to run a lot longer because diesel fuel is part oil so it helps lubricate the engine and diesel cars also produce very good torque numbers and with the use of a turbocharger which as far as I know is used on all modern diesel car applications they can make decent horsepower and lastly diesels stand to get a lot better fuel economy but that would require you to basically straight pipe and "retune" it which is both bad for the environment and highly illegal but those are the reasons why diesel cars have a very good purpose
@dustinmiller7278

bio diesel is the reason for small 4cyl and 6 cyl diesels engines in cars and you go further on diesel than gas and when you have D.E.F diesel exhaust fluid, it cuts the emissions down quite a bit
