That was super helpful! I had the opposite issue where the dh mode would never stay down and the climbing mode wouldn’t stay up. And sure enough, there was too much cable tension and thankfully I had a battle adjuster on my lever. So all fixed, crisis averted, just learned a lot more about my bike lol

Thanks for the video. I just took delivery of my bike brand new and had the same issue. It ended up being that the cable was actually clamped a little short at the shock/piston end, so even winding the cable adjustment back didn’t give the release enough room. I loosened the clamp and it then worked. Your video taught me a lot about my new toy and I really appreciated the info.

Hi very useful video, I'm with my new strive with the same problem or similar to this, it's stuck in xc mode and doesn't want to know about switching to enduro mode, yesterday it worked today not, I tried to follow your instructions but he doesn't want to know, I completely deflated the shapeshifter air, got on the bike and moved upright on the pedals as hard as I could while I tried to switch to enduro mode without success, I then inflated the shapeshifter to the same pressure as the shock absorber and put it back in enduro mode but nothing happens, I'm very annoyed by this, did I do the procedure correctly? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong, thanks to whoever answers me
@roman45344 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the video, I was getting really frustrated i still don't really understand the following though: if I pump up the shapeshifter to 200psi and disconnect the pump, will it stay at that 200 psi? Because everytime I hear air moving out while disconnecting the pump. So I am really struggling to dial in the right pressure...
@CoolBikeVidBro4 жыл бұрын
What I’ve noticed is that the pressure in the shapeshifter really is irrelevant (of course if you are a heavier rider, the more pressure the better), i found that upon disconnecting the shock pump, it loses maybe 10 PSI. If it seems like you are trying to finesse the air pressure too much, my guess is that the bushing inside the shapeshifter still is a bit stuck. Mine worked flawlessly after i was able to free the bushing. Make sure that you are in Clack mode, (climb mode) release all the air, cycle the shock as hard as you can, pump the shapeshifter back up in Clack mode, and see if that helps.
@roman45344 жыл бұрын

@CoolBikeVidBro4 жыл бұрын
I noticed the same thing on mine, i use a Rockshox digital shock pump and I’ve noticed anywhere between 10-15 PSI loss upon removing the pump. Not the shocks fault, but what happens after pulling the pump off. I just over inflate by roughly 10 PSI and that’s seemed to do the trick for me. I haven’t noticed if i run the ShapeShifter higher or lower than my rear shock any difference in performance. Hopefully if it wasn’t working great, the video helped you out!

Thanks for reaching out! If you take the cover to the shapeshifter off, look at the dial where the cable connects to the shapeshifter, if that dial doesn’t move when you switch from click to clack mode, then likely cable tension is off, try the barrel adjuster first

@@markmckenney4534 Thanks for the positive vibes Mark, i've since moved on from my Canyon and am now on an Evil Offering. Couldnt be happier at the moment. After I did this fix, i didnt experience anymore issues with the shapeshifter, but from responding to comments below, it seems like a big issue. Overall i actually enjoyed my Canyon, but i enjoy switching bikes more :) Take care!

and that doesn't make you think that something needs to be fixed on a brand new bike? unteachable brands lemmings

It is strange that the bike came with this type of issue, but the team at Canyon was super helpful on the phone about the whole thing. Seems like a lot of people have had this issue so you would think that they would address it, but glad that the fix is super easy!

@@CoolBikeVidBro wow, that exceeds my worst fears about independent thinking. Receives a bike that has not been fully constructed and is then still happy that he can call a service hotline at his own expense, where you can get min. 1 hour in the queue hangs. And those unsuspecting customers are to blame for the company's ability to hold up. lol Good advice, don't even order or send it back straight away

Totally well spoken, I guess for me, although the bike had a slight issue when I got it, it was very easily fixable and didn’t have issues after that point. To each his own, but it is a wildly fun bike!
