I love the way there are so many likes but so little comments the paint job is sick and the way the camera man uses the camera is impeccable

The bubbles in that Royal Blood made me feel a bit sick. Always purge your brake fluids before a bleed. The best way to do this is to let the syringe sit for 5 mins, then close the clip on the bleed hose, draw the plunger while keeping the syringe vertical, bleed hose up top, to create negative pressure. You'll see loads of bubbles appear and rise. Slowly allow the plunger up. Open the clip and push the air past the clip. Now shut it off an repeat until no bubbles form. Yes it's time consuming but it absolutely will improve brake feel. If you have wide calipers (like Magura), using a slightly narrower piston block/bleed block will allow a bleed with some of the piston creep factored in. This can likewise improve brake response. If you have issues with discs interfering with the caliper (Hope V4 floating rotors are a pig for this), carefully advancing the outboard pistons very slightly (0.5-1mm at most) prior to centering can allow that extra clearance. Hopefully this advice will help struggling mechanics. I've used these tricks on Hope, Shimano, Magura, TRP and SRAM (Codes, Guides, G2s and DB8s). Bonus for the SRAM guys, if you have RSC always back the contact wheel right off before a bleed. With the Bleeding Edge system you can slightly pressurise your brakes. I've always done this with my Guide RSC and Code RSC systems and have never needed to roll the contact wheel more than halfway to get immediate bite, they make even the best bled Shimano feel spongy.

I keep telling my parents about mountain bikes I like and want to buy, and they say that i shouldn't waste my money on bikes that are so expensive, and that the mountain bikes that they had as kids were only a couple hundred dollars.

Look, here is some experience I’ve gathered in my live, not only regarding mountain-biking. I started with a lousy used hardtail. The front suspension was decent and the brakes were fun as well, but the shifting, handling and steering wasn’t. You should probably include I myself wasn’t a good rider and therefore it was not only the bikes fault, but it kept breaking from time to time. Flat tires, gears out of place, even broken spokes and a crack in the rear-frame. The bike was about 450€, which isn’t much but to this day the biggest gift I’ve ever received from my parents. And I had to put in some of my savings as well. I learned 70% of everything I know regarding mountain-biking on that piece of shit. I can fix a tire within 10 minutes on the track. I can adjust and replace every part and know how to take care of it. Even though I was unhappy half of the time, it was a good investment and a wise decision to start with something that “cheapish”. I’ve had 2 more bikes since my frame broke and both of them were way too expensive for how little the improvements they brought with them. I got a ROSE “Thrillhill 1” and a CUBE “TWO15”. Both of them had cost me 2000€. I worked all summer and couldn’t even afford both of the bikes on their own. And that’s not even half of what it cost to really use them. I regularly have to replace parts from small things as brake pads, tire covers and handle bars to expensive stuff like suspension parts and spokes. I had to buy a new helmet every 2 years, light weight body armour and all necessary tools, oils and equipment. I use regular pedals but still have to buy shoes for MTB every now and then as well as clothes. I also have to effort flimsy shit like “rail passes” and bike lights. It’s easily 500€-1000€ a year on top just to be able to go mountain-biking once in a while in a time frame of about 10 months. Enough said, MTB is easily one of the most expensive sports you could choose. The custom bike in the video easily is about 7000€ and about 1000€ a year to keep maintained. I’ve never seen a rider in my life getting good by an instant just by going with an expensive bike, neither your parents seem to have witnessed something like that. There might be a price minimum but it surely isn’t 7000€, more like 300-600€ depending on where you live. After all even with two expensive bikes in the shed, I still am able to outperform spoiled rich kids on their “price of a car” bike on my hardtail and have a shit ton a fun doing it.

Ahhh to be pro again 😆 🤣 😂 I went pro in BMX racing, got all free custom crap, but it would be way more helpful for MTB, Road, Gravel and DJ. My cheapest bike is my custom Park build on a Sunday Streetsweeper frame at $2600 or so. Next cheapest was the Dirt Jumper at around 6k 😆 🤣 😂 my Slash with GX Transmission is a healthy 9k, and the Madone was around 18k (I had to have the interstellar chroma paint job for 3k by itself lol). Luckily, I work in the industry, so I did not pay MSRP for anything.
