just a little thing but im pretty sure most people dont know. Allocating shields below 33% DOESNT give you any negativ effects from resistance.. even with 0% to shield the resistance stays the same value as with 33%

I fly an MSR and my plan has always been to run instead of fight. I'm glad to see that I can allocate power to engines and shields and increase my chances of surviving and escaping. It's nice to have this mechanic in the game. Thanx for making this video that details how it's now working.

Turrets have a lot of capacity to them for energy weapons so having a gunner can be pretty strong now

This is almost the exact system that elite dangerous uses for power management, with the same bonuses, tradeoffs, etc. for diverting power to the three systems. Not a complaint though; I absolutely love how power management works in that game, and I'm glad to see it here as well.

Another great video, as always. I’d love to see something on missile usage. All I know to do is open an engagement by firing a missile before I’m in gun range, which pretty much never lands a hit. How can I be more effective with missiles?

Do shields drain if no power is allocated? This feels a lot like the Tie Fighter power management, which was a wonderful balance between sim and arcade.

It May be too slow to order in the middle of fight and don`t forget the lag between order, confirmation and application. It will be interesting if this sequence would be twice as fast-then maybe effective, I think

@@Corolalumii it’s easy to adjust for lag if you know tactically what you or your opponent will do. The only thing that may get you killed is deploying flares if you’re close use a hot key if they are far voice will help you focus on other systems.

This is very useful information, thanks. I think it would also be really nice to see how negatively affected each system is when power allocation is reduced below 33% or removed entirely. Is it a linear decay in performance, or does each system get increasingly worse the closer it gets to 0%?

At 0% capacitor you get nothing. For example, if you are at 100% weapons, you get zero boost regen, zero shield regen, zero boost cost reduction, zero shield resistance modification. In fact, for the latter two, they don't start until 33% capacitor.

Thrusters would be of minimal importance to me if I can stay on target. I would want at least 33% in shields to replenish at all? And I could put the other 66% into my lasers? That is what I get from you saying that with less than 33% in shields, they won't replenish at all.

Any word on whether or not it is now a bonus to put a more capable powerplant on a ship. In other words, if I add a better powerplant will the weapons/shields/engines use that extra power now, or is it still capped like pre 3.14?

Changing your power plant won't change anything for now. Undoubtedly they will fix this in the future.

Thanks for the vid. There's some mistake here, or I don't get your image. You say setting the triangle 100% to weapons means a 27% increase in recharge rate. But, in the table it says the time to recharge goes from 11.3 to 5.25. Now, taking into account that there are about 20% more rounds in the magazin, this means the old recharge rate was 11.3 secs to regen 84 rounds, meaning 7.4 rounds per second, and the 100%-to-weapons setting then regens 101 rounds in 5.25 secs or 19.2 rounds per second. That's an increase of 260%! Not 27% increase. So.. that or.. what am I missing? Thanks again :)

How quickly will the power distribution take effect after changing it? Is it immediately??? So it would be a good idea to change it all the time, or is it slower, so i shouldn't change much during eg. 1v1 combat?

People don t give a single fox about this game. That is not even progress…CIG is using such changes to cheat on backers. This isn’t another level of complexity. This isn’t necessary. This haven’t ever been an end goal…This BS is just a quick number tweak and another back and forth between boost…afterburner…then boost again to hide the (obvious to whoever has half a brain) F A C T. CIG has made no progress and has no idea what they are doing. Least of all I am gonna watch suck videos and try to learn what they will change next patch to hide their lack of progress.
