Not an expert on Makoto so I was wondering on that last ultra that won the match. Was Haitani just doing that to escape and it happened to hit because Sakura stuck out a move, or was Haitani buffering that and did it on reaction to Sakura hitting a button?

I think its one of those cases where not enough people used her early on, so no one realized how good she was. Like how people didn't realize how OP Fei Long before they buffed him in the AE versions haha. Had people other than Uryo played Sakura early on, i don't think we would've had this problem.

If you look at the round before he landed it, Juso was playing hyper aggressive once he had Haitani in the corner because he 'knows' Haitani is going to using his ultra to run away. Instead, Haitanti did the light version of the ultra instead of the heavy to go for the kill. Ballsy as fuck.

But Haitani is quite big on japan though, everyone on the fgc there knows about the 5 gods (Haitani, Daigo, Sako, Tokido and Nuki), all players of street fighter and vampire savior (darkstalkers), he has already a strong background, he also did really good at evo this year (if you didn't see it look for it, you won't regret it).
