wow again daigo taught me. anti dhalsim tech. just keep walking forward and blocking, again again , from far range, it will train dhalsim to try and stop the walk. he must. then he is open to the jump mix, only after the ground force. so simple X_x. so brilliant. just one too many buttons, then its on.

How can Daigo be so...cool? Like with everything. He's calm, collected, no pop offs, no emotion, no smiles, no faces made during play. He's just...like raw cool. It's almost weird. Even with moment 37 - no emotion, calm hands during, just sits there after probably not smiling. Even now when he streams, his voice and presence is so gentle, that it's almost us just hearing his inner monologue. I don't know how he does it.

Sad, I was rooting for Xian on this match. Good adaptation from Daigo since he's last match vs Xian's Dhalsim, that time he lost cause of trading, now almost no fireballs and nice patience. Always eager to watch another rematch between this two.

They forget that when Daigo 10-0'd Xian with normal Ryu a few years back, he was deliberately using the strategy of keeping his back to the corner to avoid the ambiguous setups of Gen. Xian knows this too, hence the back throw on 9:55

This result is actually very obvious, Daigo definitely has go back and study how to beat Xian's Dhalsim as last year he lose it. And when the same method didn't work on Daigo anymore Xian has no choice but to use his primary character Gen, sadly without a trick he is not strong enough to beat Daigo face to face.

I think trying to counter pick with an old character like Dhalsim was a mistake, especially for two whole matches. You have to imagine Daigo probably already has so much experience facing the character with normal Ryu, so he has that fundamental patience of blocking and inching forward.

+Skullgirlsfanboy You'll notice no one wins evo twice because the play of the higher echelon is very even. Xian is performing great but you can't count anyone out when everyone in the bracket is a guaranteed monster.

Scott Hall I believe he said something of the like in an interview once. After you go big, you are instantly put under the microscope every time you play. And if you play a lot, almost everyone knows what you tend to do. So, anyone who is a power player has a ton of skill, plus a free info card on everything you've ever done, just by typing your name in Google. It's very intimidating, really. But that aside, I feel his loss to Daigo came from using Dhalsim in game 2 as well. If he switched after game 1, he could have built momentum, but he killed himself by trying to build crowd hype. I said this before, but this is just how usf4 is anymore. I'm glad we can put it to rest, and move on now. Perhaps that's what players like Xian need.

Skullgirlsfanboy I was rooting for Kazunoko anyway, there's just something about his loyalty to Yun and everyone counting him out against the better players that gets me hype. I feel like Xian got in his own head too much trying to prove hes a godlike counter picker. I'm excited to see how five mixes it up without all these years of match-up knowledge/player studying hopefully he'll go back to focusing on mastering one character. Also you're totally right about that pick against Daigo being a borderline forfeiture. Xian has the skill and hes an absolute god on reaction(easily in my top 5 quickest) so if he can just get out of his head he has the potential to be the absolute best.

mofofosho225 Champ rides on his few victories on Daigo, when Dhalsim was a hard counter for Ryu in the past, and they rarely play. Kazunoko played Daigo regularly this year, and as beaten him in all their encounters, save for Master Series.
