Nice seeing more and more peacock bass in Cape Coral since I moved here from south Florida. In Miami they are heavily populated.

Yeah, they're getting established around here.

The tarpon bite was on this morning at the first 2 bridges, went 2-14 on the fly. They are needlefish not barracuda. Great video.

Nice, I know there's needlefish in the canals as well it was not a needlefish it was a small barracuda. unfortunately you can't make it out in the video but I guarantee you it was juvenile barracuda 100%

Don’t worry about what people think about the release.

I understand not everybody will be happy with the way it was released. I was just trying to explain that there are better ways to do it then what you see in the video, which is why I put that little note to begin with. It is important to release those big fish especially as best you can since they are the big breeder fish that keep the fish populations going. Unfortunately that spot is always a pain because of how high it is which is why I'm now bringing my pier net every time I go there. Like I said I want to treat those big fish better because it helps the fishes survival rate and it's the right thing to do.

With so many canals, you don't have to go far!

I got manhandled by a huge fish using a spinning reel and rod. Never again. Casting and conventional reels only. Can't go wrong with a natural winch. So much more power and control being able to put my thumb on the spool to stop the fish.
