Cape Flattery, the Most Northwest Point in the Contiguous U.S.
Cape Flattery, the hidden gem just outside Olympic National Park! This remarkable hike, offers stunning views, wildlife encounters, and even some bragging rights.
🚗 Located near the town of Neah Bay, Cape Flattery is an easy drive from Port Angeles, Washington. While there's no fee for the trail itself, you'll need a Makah Recreation Permit to park at the trailhead. Don't worry; we've got you covered with all the details on how to get there and where to obtain your permit ➡️ makah.com/activities/cape-fla...
🌲 The hike itself is a manageable 1.2 miles roundtrip, making it accessible for hikers of all levels. Starting in a lush forest, you'll follow a gravel path winding through towering trees. Keep an eye out for the picturesque sea stacks and water views as you progress. The trail features boardwalks to protect the fragile ecosystem and offers multiple viewpoints along the way.
🐋 One of the highlights of Cape Flattery is the opportunity to spot marine life. If you're lucky, you might witness humpback whales, orcas, gray whales, sea lions, and various sea birds in action. We'll have our binoculars ready to catch those magical moments.
🌦️ Be prepared for the ever-changing weather of the Pacific Northwest. Cape Flattery can get quite windy, and rain is common, especially during the winter months.

I was lucky to be there on a sunny no wind day. Lived in WA all my life but only once to cape Flattery. Unforgettable experience. The drive was FOREVER to get there and very slow... still worth it. You are at the end of the world so bring what you need.

We really wanted to experience Washington in that Moody rainy foggy weather and nothing exactly what we got 😁 would love to see it in the summer though I want to experience a different season next time we go! Really enjoyed the ride out there all along the coast was so pretty! Will definitely go there again one day. We brought snacks and a camera 😂 appreciate you watching!
