4 years ago, I was inspired by John from the KZbin channel @HoundsofHowgate to walk the Cape Wrath Trail. Since then, I have watched many hikers walk this 235 mile, 37500 elevation gain collection of trails and put their videos on KZbin. These include Sarah from @FitForAdventure, Becky from @GirlOutdoors and Niall and Lisa from @TubbaTravels as well as many others like @HazeOutdoors and @GreysHikes5236
After turning 65 at the end of July 2023, I embarked on my 18 day attempt to join these other intrepid hikers. So join me as I drag my old body over 4x4 tracks, single tracks, pathless tracks, bogs, midges, river crossings and all the weather elements Scotland has to offer.
Oh, and since I'm from Glasgow, I've added subtitles to make it easier for folks to understand what the hell I'm saying!

Great camp spot by the pub, nice shower, and dinner, when in Scotland, 'Haggis with needs and taties' delicious. Perhaps the white froth was Nessie, that's why they can't find her in Loch Ness 😂 great day's hike and brill video.

Lol...I saw Nessie when I was 11 years old! Coming down into Drumnadrochit on motorbike and sidecar we saw it in the loch and got so excited. We headed down to the loch and was disappointed to find it was a full size model in the loch swimming around! They were making a movie!!!

All the hills in Torridon are magnificent and well worth climbing....Ben Eighe, Liathach and Ben Alligin. and then Slioch is easily reached from Kinlochewe..

Lol..yeah..I was on vacation! :-) 😀 My priority for this trip was stay in a hotel if I could, Bothy next tent last! :-) You'll have a heart attack on a later episode at the hotel I stayed at in Kylesku!

Hi Iain. I've been watching - and thoroughly enjoying - your videos along the Cape Wrath Trail without comment but today, something you said made me sit up with a start. In 1969 when I was 12 years old my family was camping at what is now Sands Camping and Caravanning site. My Dad (a keen motorcyclist) made friends with a family on a motorbike and sidecar, During the course of our stay my younger brother played football with some other lads he met there and on one occasion one of their group put the football through a caravan window. My brother assured my parents it wasn't him, by the way. Is this a remarkable coincidence?

That's crazy!. Such a small world we live in. Pretty sure that would have been us! I went to Big Sands for many a year as the school I attended in Glasgow had a croft next to the youth hostel. And here we are 54 years later! Your comment certainly made me smile and bring back happy memories!❤
