Cape York 2023 - Day 5 - Coen to Chilli Beach - Operation Blow Down

Day 5 of our Cape York 2023 adventure takes us from Coen to Chilli Beach via Portland Road. Stopping at Batavia Gold field ruins, Mount Tozer lookout and Operation Blow Down site before arriving at Chilli Beach for the night.
Operation Blow Down site, where in 1963 the Australian army set off a spherical charge of 45t of TNT on a tower 41m above the ground to simulate the effects of a nuclear weapon on tropical rainforest. (Wikipedia).
