Exactly Sir, I have achieved financial independence recently and have retired early from my corporate job last month. After the recent changes in long term capital gain tax, A full time investor can book profit upto 9,00,000 tax free (7,75,000 basic exemption + 1,25,000 tax free LTCG). Hence I'm planning to take 15 lakhs from my equity portfolio this year out of which 7L will be profit and 8L from my invested amount without paying any tax. Im getting around 2L dividends which will be also tax free. They say Life is 1% what happens to you and 99% how you react to it!!!

How much maximum dividend is tax free?

@@marieswar , Dividend is taxed at shareholders corresponding tax bracket from first rupee itself, there is no tax free amount for dividend. In my above example for a full time investor, 7L profit is booked from equity and 2L received as dividend. As it is equal to total tax free amount of 9,00,000, it will be tax free.

இங்கு பிரச்சினை இப்போ இருக்கும் 20% , 12.5% இல்லை சார். கண்டிப்பாக, STCG - 30% வரையிலும், LTCG - 25% வரை சாதாரணமாக செயல்படுத்த வாய்ப்பு இருக்கு. அதை நினச்சு தான் எல்லோரும் பயப்பட்றாங்க.. 😢

இந்த அரசு, மக்கள் நீண்ட கால நோக்கில் முதலீடு செய்வதை ஆதரிக்க நினைத்திருந்தால் LTCG increased செய்திருக்காது. STCG மட்டும் ஏற்றி இருக்கலாம்.‌ இரண்டையும் ஒரே வருடத்தில் ஏற்றும்போது தான்‌ சந்தேகமே வருகிறது.. வரும் காலங்களில் இரண்டுமே உயர்ந்து கொண்டே செல்லும் என்று..

Agreed to your points. Paying small tax is good for the country. We have made some money from the infrastructure created by the nation. No harm in contributing a small portion in the way of tax for nation building.

சார்! ஒரு கம்பெனி சேர்களை 1 லடசத்திற்கு வாங்குகிறோம். ஒரு வருடம் அல்லது 2 வருட்கள் கழித்து அதன் மதிப்பு இரண்டு லட்சம். கேபிடல் கெய்ன்ஸ் 1லடசம்.வரி இல்லை.. விற்றவுடனே அந்த 2லடசத்திற்கு அதே ஷேரை வாங்கினாவ் வாங்கும் விலை 2 லடசமாகி விடும். இந்த வழியில் சிறு முதலீட்டார்கள ் வரி கட. டுவதை தவிர்கலாம்.
