what can you say about the street triple ? good bike to the city ???? I am trying to choose between the ducati 696 and triumph street triple...

+Jorge mendonça Hi Jorge. Before I bought the Street Triple I test rode several middleweight bikes, including the Ducati 796. I have also ridden the 696. I did not like the riding position because you are right over the front wheel. Also, the Ducati's footpegs are tiny and badly placed if you are a taller rider, like I am. In terms of performance between the Ducati and the Street Triple, in my opinion there is no comparison. The Triumph is much more refined and smooth. If you are looking at the Monster series, I would suggest looking at a bigger Monster than the 696, maybe the 796 would be a better option if you are looking for similar performance to the Triumph. In my opinion, the Street Triple is an excellent city bike. It is relatively small and light, and has a good turning radius meaning filtering between traffic is easy. It is happy in low gears but also has a lot of torque for getting away from the traffic. All of the above is just a personal opinion, I would suggest test riding any bikes you are considering and making an assessment yourself - but I know which one I would choose ;)
