Super agreed about the ending message “Put in the reps, it gets easier over time.” When I first started I was overwhelmed, now I’m fairly comfortable and do these searches second nature.

Love the growth! When did you first start getting into points and miles?
@soapa42793 сағат бұрын
@@NurseMichaelTravels I think maybe 8 months ago now? So super new to it. I was always a credit card user but just used a 2% CB card. After discovering the world of points and miles, it's been pretty life changing for our travel plans. Thanks!

🎉I use AC Aeroplan to book United flights, But, there is an additional C$39 partner booking fee (@$27US), so 12.5K AC miles vs 15K UA miles is a wash.
@NurseMichaelTravels19 сағат бұрын
Very true, I never really have United miles so I don’t often have to choose but if I had to I’d choose based on which miles I had more of or how likely I am to cancel the flight

Great video, One think that throws me off is the fee added onto the price, you won't know until you are about to book on the program. I prefer to pay more points and have lower fees. Aeroplan has high fees and taxes like Avios as well. Cheers
@NurseMichaelTravels4 сағат бұрын
I hate those too, especially folks with higher fees like Avios, I’m a big fan of the max price filter on PointsYeah to filter some of them out but that doesn’t really help with Avios partners though

What is the reward point website you refer to?
@NurseMichaelTravels19 сағат бұрын
PointsYeah! here’s my affiliate link: www.pointsyeah.com/?linkId=lp_919533&sourceId=nm-travels&tenantId=pointsyeah I only get a small commission if you signup for premium, and you don’t really need premium unless you find yourself using it ALL the time and need to search for more dates at a time. All of its useful features are free!

You got any advice going to LHR from LAX in peak season with a family of 4 ? Using BA?
@NurseMichaelTravels18 сағат бұрын
You ONLY have BA Avios? And economy or business class?
@Atapoii18 сағат бұрын
@@NurseMichaelTravels economy or premium economy 2 adults 2 children. I have capital 1 and Chase I can transfer no issue. I think I need to use Avios as I have a discount voucher that I need to use on BA. I would love to have your advice.

You’re welcome! I have both and I love to use Capital One and AMEX points and try to keep my Chase points mostly for hotels with Hyatt or their travel portal personally
@jeffreybacot12 сағат бұрын
Or I can just use my earn 2x points on AMEX BB, 3x Green, 4x Gold and sometimes 5x Plat. Then book with 35% discount using Platinum without any blackouts for domestic flights.
@NurseMichaelTravels5 сағат бұрын
True! The 35% rebate is awesome. But the business platinum has some limitations with the 35% rebate, its most flexible when booking business class flights on any airline, but with business class, partners might have better pricing sometimes. You can get a rebate from economy flights but it has to be booked with your “preferred” selected airline for the year so that can be restricting for some. Here’s an in depth article for folks who want to learn more: upgradedpoints.com/credit-cards/reviews/amex-business-platinum/pay-with-points-rebate/

@ Great reference article. Only thing I would add it that even with a better bonus on the Chase SR I save those points for Hyatt stays because I use those points almost exclusively for Hyatt hotel stays and get 2.1x value when I do and don’t earn points at Chase as fast as i do as AMEX but for those that do earn more Chase than Amex points and have the CSR it would be the better option.
