The DLC looks like it's introducing some junkyard lord who decided to expand his trash empire with quick-welded ships. The look of it all is starting to grow on me, so guess I can get over the lack of sheer number of different designs. Can't wait to take a peek into the storyline. (Also hoping for peace in UA asap).

Loving the idea of a scrap dealer. For ages I've thought that it's a shame there has been so many derelict ships and stations clogging the systems up. There has to be money in scrap metals et Al. And now it's here. Awesome.

I like the new ships, they have a nice style, very unique for a pirate faction. I like the idea of a trader that can defend itself / bum around with a rattlesnake.

What I would have loved to see in the DLC or further DLCs down the road is the ability to customize ships by sacrificing other aspects. For example the ability to gain more speed at the cost of manuverability or the ability to gain an additional turret spot at the cost of cargo space and so on. So making the ships a little bit more customizable and adding new game play choices. But lets see what future DLCs hold.

You know this could work with modular ship models too, you have the system in station building wher things "snap" , so why not make a system where you design your own ships! Add a main hull/cockpit and have a few joints to attach different wings or maybe a tiny ship with a giant engine , or more guns but no speed, and different wings can have different amount of gun points and stuff like this

Not the same but some mods I've seen have been doing something similar with mk1 and mk3 ships where one is a battle cruiser and the other is a carrier with less damage output, hull, etc. But can hold a lot more fighters

Cool thing I discovered about the Riptide's Teuta: It's the fastest way to level up service crew. They'll all be full stars in no time. It does need to AutoSalvage to do this though, (you can't just park it). I rotate crew in and out to level them all up. It's really fast. Like Junker School or something.

After seeing you talk about the filled encyclopedia for tides of avarice, i realized that years later half the thing is still empty for the vanilla/base game. I would actually pay a few bucks for an encyclopedia completion dlc.

I would argue the Barbarossa is not a destroyer, but an armed trader. You probably need a full 2:1 against the races destroyers.

Feels like a good piracy ship. Not necessarily fast but enough Dakkah to motivate the traders to... share their cargo.

That Barbarossa actually sounds as like a pretty nifty ship for trading. It's essentially a Buffalo 2.0 and as I'm doing a Split run I grew accustomed to the Buffalo as my L freighter. Wouldnt use the Barbarossa for military duties when I have access to proper destroyers though.

So 4 months later, but I would really like for some other factions to get their variations of the salvage ships, and armed traders. I am fully away the Rakers are the only ones who would go all in on salvage, but the Teladi and Split I feel like they would use it as a method to make profit (Teladi), or to supplement their poor mineral quality space (Split). Armed "traders" like the Barbarrosa I feel like every faction would have, sacrificing some storage space to have a trader that doesn't have to worry about pirates.

I love the barb as my go to large traders because of their speed and defense, since i operate allot near scaleplate space they can pretty much outrun or kill what ever bothers them, also nice they can be built easily with closed loop system. I tend to have 2-3 of these set for personal traders for when i want to send jobs specificly to target stations and then use them as boarders when not trading, 3 of these and i can board anything very easily.

I am very disappointed with the amount of new capital ships and i guess there are no new L turrets for capital ships other then the erlking turrets.

Havent played in a while, but i love the fact the we start having realistic hangar sizes. While it makes the game a bit harder i was always a bit taken out of the game by the fact that my rattlesnake which isnt that much bigger than its landing pad, can store up to 41 fighters ... I mean all ships in general, but for some reason it annoyed me the most with split ships!

X series , runs for more than 2 decades , If Egosoft actualy went through with the X- universe mulitplayer idea for X4 it would have blown SC out of the water But there is always hope for X5 to be an MMO . Dont hate me but i would love to see Egosoft and frontier work to gether. as both elite dangerous and X series could benefit from each other.

I'm not sure I like the "destroyer" thing. The ship values are very weak compared to the other races. I don't like the new PAR balancing at all. Maybe if it is revised at some point that the Behemoth can not store 40S ships. Also that there are no new weapons for the pirates... okay the erlking gets these exclusively, but it is only one ship.

I hate it too, this race looks terrible to Play. The new turrents need to fit on EVERY ship. This race better have something amazing in the small or med lineup way way way above every other race or absolutely no one is going to spend extensive time on them. So far this seems like a horrible move for ego soft

Yeah kinda disappointed by egosoft rebalancing paranid ships with internat stockage but not the other ships... I mean if you not gonna change the other ships than you simply give same internal storage to paranid ships... It's like with COH introducing different sun level while the rest of the galaxy doesn't have that feature... It's very weird and honestly immersion breaking...

Personally I don't think any of the ships should have 40 fighters, hell the game BARLEY uses my gpu for whatever reason, it uses also all processor and I have an i5 and it lags fairly poorly bc they still haven't optimized the game to actually USE the damn gpu we all pay hundreds for. 40+ fighters is honestly not even system wise very feasible due to lag nor realistic unless they increase L and XL class sizes. I'd say they should reasonably store 12? Maybe? When you look at them in size comparison 40 fighters is like 3 Xl ships. Honestly the optimization is the thing that really annoys me tho, if they fixed that the game would be incredible

@@CaptainCollins x3 had unique per civilization type TLs. Just annoying we don't get any unique to civilization ones in X4. Ontop of that no hvy fighters have a aft turret anymore I loved cutlass and Nova in X3 due to those turrets being a nice little sentry. These little changes just bring more life to the universe. It also just looks lazy having the same builder simply because "players barely use them".

Wait no Big FIghting Ships? No Carrier? nothing that could be on par with Asgard or Raptor? Not even new dirty Weapons? Like i dont know... Magnetic Field Bombs which make your ship undetactable or deactivate Enemy Ships for a few sec, making them absolutly vulnerable to Pirate Attacks?..... Didnt they say the Splinter Group has to live from Scrap collecting and Piracy? i thought that would show on a grand scale....thats somehow dissapointing.

I don't say that I cover 100% of all possibilities, but with the Erlking, these are the ships we get. Though, there is a device I've not talked about (and didn't see myself yet).

@@CaptainCollins NA i dont assumed that but since the Video is titeld "All Capital SHips" i assume, thats everything we get, maybe beside a "Secred" Quest Reward or omething ^^ i dont know i was super hyped and for me it seems a bit "low" on the Amount of new "Faction" Specific Weapons and Combat Ships ^^ but we will see once it is available :D
