That thing is a masterpiece... Looks very detailed and fun to build... Love it.. Can't wait to see your progress..

Great job deciphering the instructions. I've seen one other Capo build and the same info was given - Questionable instructions and missing parts. In comparison, I have seen $400 kit manufacturers ridiculed for QC on packaging.....and finally, seeing the complexity of the first 4 hours of the build, it look as if it is a show kit rather than a driving kit. I don't think Capo has seen what you can do with a Mattzilla/Super Shafty/Vanquish/Tekin powered crazy machine!

The RCNetwork I'm looking at it this way, if you bought a $1000 plastic model it better have the best instructions in the world and every part easily found and marked as they better be giving you the value in the instructions as the parts can't justify the cost. Now if you buy a $1000 1:1 kit car (over exaggerating on both of these obviously) then I am not expecting much for additional help as the value is in the parts not the instructions. The balance of parts, cost and instructions needs to be reasonable. The parts on this car are very detailed,. mainly machined and highly specialized. I see where the value in the parts is coming from.

wow, that looks awesome, but for $2400 you should be able to call them and they should send you replacement part immediately.

2cwik4u104 I'm sure I can get the parts sent but I'm not going to worry about any of that right now. I want to get the whole car together and then see what the situation is.

Thought on your brake there. If you have a what, 15 pound all metal Jeep tanking along a trail in top gear, and you let off the throttle to coast... Bang, on comes the drag brake, shocking that mass back through all those unique gears. Running that mechanical brake to hold (practically an e brake), and having a regular esc with coast then proportional brakes would be kinder on the dive line, and more scale.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
Badmuthatrucker666 A drag brake will be much more reliable and effective in stopping even a heavy truck. The gears are a nice thick hardened steel so they don't concern me. If you wanted proportional brakes you could still do it with the use of a double pump style reverse. The use of a disc brake like this is just too unreliable and complex to rely on holding an expensive machine in some potentially damaging situations. Eliminating failure points like this disc brake will make this truck a better driving experience in the end, I am confident in that.

Harley Designs Yeah, I guess it's a personal thing and comes down to what you want from your model, really :) And if you are going to actually crawl it... Granted, muck in the caliper would be problematic. Personally I find running a drag brake on trail trucks is like slapping it into park to stop, but again, a me thing. Either way, having a supplied working park brake is pretty cool on an engineering level.

Could that rear brake be for front dig? I really cannot see any other reason for the designers to implement that brake.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
There is no option to front dig on this truck, you can only go to 2wd (RWD) so the brake would only fight the wheels you are powering and still have no braking effect on the front wheels.

All the time in the world to build kits but yet too swamped to update the deadbolt budget build still? Cmon Harley we know you got time
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
TheYoungShot I have to set priorities. The Deadbolt will still be there when the kits are done. The kits are brand new and need to be shown as close to release as possible to peak the interest of people.

I would be very unhappy with any issues that arise during the build considering what it costs
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
mrant750 By no means would I say I'm happy with missing parts, but with the amount of parts in this kit already, I am surprised that I have only had a couple of small issues.

looks pretty cool...but that $2500 price tag is a bit insane..
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
Jason A There is a lot of kit left to see. When you think about it, we have this kind of money in some of our Wraiths, so its all perspective. It is a very high price tag but it is a very unique truck.
@ShawnTheSilentLurkerKerr9 жыл бұрын
Harley Designs Was just going to say that myself. $2500 for a finely detailed kit isn't bad. You are paying for the time and processes that go into producing it. Hell, I've got a Twin Hammers RTR that I've put over a grand into, and that's not counting the price of the car itself.
@Mrtojo9 жыл бұрын
Starting to think this is not worth the price it cost! To many bugs and looks like many things need to be upgraded/fixed.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
TOJO RC I don't think I'd say that at all yet. There really haven't been any bugs other than the one missing parts and one missing screw. The spark plug issue is just one of those deals though. I haven't seen anything that needs to be "upgraded" yet either. So far I have not got the feeling that it hasn't justified the cost. It needs to be finished and looked at as a whole before I make a judgement on that.

This comment is not meant to be hateful nor trollish but from what I've seen from this video alone, the truck is not worth the street price. Beautiful truck? Yes. Amazing looks and realistic design? Absolutely. Yet something as basic as designing a way to allow for proper gear mesh adjustment has been ignored. Using such small grub screws with fine threads usually ends very bad. The spark plug issue you're having drives me crazy and it's not even my truck. These small oversights are things experienced hobbyist would care to correct when designing a kit, especially of this caliber; this is just the engine/tranny portion so lets see what lay ahead. The missing parts is forgivable, things happen, but customer support needs to come through. I can't recall a scale crawler of this magnitude, if you're going to produce one and charge big dollar for it then it has to be perfect.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
xXG.L.HXx This is a realistic comment and it is the reason that I hit on some of these points. I agree that not making provisions for something like gear mesh is very odd as well as some of the other things I mentioned. We will see how things progress as the build goes. I am not giving them a pass on anything, it needs to stand up to the price tag.

These are real cool, and a nice option to other scale kits out there. On the other hand....IMO, these are not going to sell well. First and for most they cost way too much, 2400.00, for a roller? I know you pay for detail, but I want to be able to drive it. Honestly from what KZbin Vids I have seen they don't look too sturdy, trans and axles, pushing and pulling around a 20+ lbs. rig. That will put much stress/wear on load bearing axle and trans parts and pieces. i.e. the sophisticated transmission mechanism, and shifting multi gear system. Bitchin' but fragile. Again IMO. I don't own one, and would never spend that much for a kit, which brings me to my next point, who would you scale around with? 1 in 1000 people are going to buy one of these and who would want you around in the tenth scale world crushing all the challenges on the trail and messing up all the scale vids and pics? lol Oh well guess I am just jealous... Lets hope they charge you 2.5K for those nice solid parts you don't see.
@HarleyDesignsInc9 жыл бұрын
Evolution8R The gears in the trans seem nice and strong. The thing I would worry about is the axle gears. The transmission in general seems like it will likely hold up fine, but I can see shifting being a pain with a micro servo., but again I don't see the trans being fragile. As far as who would go scaling with you, I think you're over looking that even though this is listed as a 1:8 scale most trucks are way out of scale. This thing is big but not really much bigger than the New Bright hardbody. The tires are not even 5" tall. Plus the scale of pictures is always off when you have a Toyota Hilux next to an F350 and the Hilux body is actually significantly larger! So in most cases...people aren't that picky.
