To tell you how high the standard of hip hop was in the 90s and how low it has fallen; when The Pillage came out, it received mixed reviews. This album will slay 99% of today's counterfeit out there.

At the age of 32 I started to listen rap again after about 3-4 years break. But this time I’ve started from scratch started with Dj Kool Herc to understand better this great genre:) And I’m stuck with Wu Tang. Thats all I’m listening for about 10 months. I’ve gave enough time for each album to get the essence :) I’ve started with Enter the Wu and listened all albums in chronological order including every solo album (except Words from the Genious but it’s on my list). I’ve told all this to tell that how I was surprised when listening The Pillage. It might be the most underrated solo project. It is in the Top 5 solo Wu albums imo and this song is a masterpiece.
