💭What is one highlight and one lesson from 2024 for you? How are you spending the closing of the year?

My biggest lesson I’ve learned in 2024 is that when I have a feeling about someone or something is not meant for me, I need to listen to how and what my body reacts to and leave immediately. Not stick around and see how things turn out. Even if it hurts someone else’s feelings. I also learned to stop people pleasing and needing validation from people who don’t have my best interest at heart because everybody isn’t for me and I have came to accepting that this year. I’m thankful I learned this lesson and took the time to heal a lot of things in my life. Truly is a blessing and the love I have for myself is getting stronger and I needed that so much! 🫶🏽 Thank you 2024 for your lessons.

I’ve been learning to sew, and there are patterns that have been on my wish list for ages. I was so nervous to try them out, but I finally pushed myself-and guess what? They didn’t turn out bad at all! 💁🏽‍♀️ Proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone!

This year was incredibly difficult (unexpected divorce, getting burnt out of my 9-5, been unemployed since Aug) but instead of choosing to stay in what I now understand as a karmic cycle, I'm choosing to break it. I'm choosing to return to self. I'm a Capricorn sun and will be turning 28 in a week! The universe has quite literally beaten my ass this year, but I now know it's all for my good because I'm meant to metamorphisize. I'm proud that I'm choosing to put me and my dreams first.

I am proud that I prayed on and took shaking legs steps to approach the executive director of a local craft museum to create a new role and to hire me as their Events Coordinator early in 2024. Something I would have never thought to do because of fear. It'll be a year in March 2025 that I joined the staff! I don't set new year resolutions. It just feels so out of sync to do so. I always set new moon intentions either with starting new tinctures/oils/teas (basically working with herbs) or working with my resolutions I set out in the spring. Assessing and realigning. 2024 has met us with cancer challenges. (I wouldn't wish these challenges on my worst enemy.) Staying steady on the years manifestations and monthly new moons has helped meeting those challenges. If only to keep me grounded.

Highlight: Finally paying off all high-interest debt and loans from family members, plus saving an emergency fund. I feel I used my windfall wisely. Lesson: I can’t control how others see me or whether they use my gender-neutral pronouns, I can only honor myself, speak my truth, live as my authentic self, and feel out when it is worth it to assert my pronouns and when I need to let it go, because everyone is in a different place on this broader cultural gender journey. In instances where people I love continue to misgender me, I can appreciate what they do see and understand about me even if they don’t see me fully for who I am, while continuing to offer redirection in a loving way to the extent that I have the energy for it. If it becomes too heavy, or if they choose to make a battle of it, I also grant myself permission to create space in that relationship without burning bridges (a last resort) and align myself more closely with people who understand me and offer me grace.
