Nice shot of your shadow as you walk, and the golden hillside bathed in sunlight - no words. With that said, it is easy to see how the steep sides of the path plus the snow fields were a bit worrisome. Glad you made it in one piece.

Thank you.

What I love about the PCT is how far you can see where you're going.
@CaptainDansWanderings7 жыл бұрын
One of the biggest differences between the Appalachian Trail and the PCT. You can see vast distances (and have amazing views) on the PCT, but you're pretty much stuck under a perpetual forest canopy on the AT.

Hey Capt Dan, I have been watching your trip. Great video coverage. I'm going to be backpacking in the Meiss Roadless area this weekend. You will most likely pass through there a couple days ahead of me. Would have liked to say hi if the timing was a couple days different. Safe travels. Hope you did ok around the Washington Fire area this week.

If you go by Walker CA. Jump out and eat a Walker Burger and a shake. Great shade and famous for the cool birdhouses they have around there.

Not sure when you'll see this, but today, for me, is Sunday - Father's Day. So, happy Father's Day, Dan!, if that applies - and if it doesn't, well, happy Father's Day anyway!

Yikes! Those slopes look downright dangerous. Which was worse - Forester Pass or those icy slopes? (No way am I showing this to my wife) ;)
@CaptainDansWanderings9 жыл бұрын
The icy slopes on Sonora Pass were worse for me.

You could use a hiking pole like an ice axe to do a self-arrest in case you need to...

I tried on Glen Pass and got busted up. The slopes on Forrester were very steep and went down into (seemingly) oblivion.

Note to self...keep spikes/crampons 'til after Sonora pass.

Leanne Scott It was sketchy and I was so thankful to get thru it without sliding down the mountainside.
