Amelia is the reason I have better vocabulary. She spoke in such a sophisticated manner that I had to pick up a dictionary when I was younger just do understand some of the things she said in the movie. Lol!

Yeah, definitely. Of all the dramatic sympathy and empathy we were supposed to feel for that fussy prick of a protagonist Jim Hawkins, it was Arrow's death that I distinctly recall feeling a pang of real emotion. The chemistry between him and Amelia was so clear, it was such an "oh shit" moment when the henchlobster kills him off.

Sometimes I wonder if she and Doppler would have wound up together if Arrow hadn't died. I mean, if Arrow was alive, there may not have been a need for Doppler to take care of Amelia or unleash all his hidden potential, but then again, he may have been able to work together with Arrow and show his true colors a different way (as he did by giving astronomical advice). I still miss Arrow 😭.

I think it was more for plot considering she was the strongest one on Jim's side so if she went out of commission it suddenly became up to him. I didn't really think of it in any bad way, good character plot for Jim. I suppose the writers wanted to add a romance and so they found an opportunity to have these two get closer when the Doctor is now in the role of authority and she no longer has the down to business side of her going.
