Captain America is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. The popularity of superheroes waned following the war, and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication.
The character wears a costume bearing an American flag motif, and he utilizes a nearly-indestructible shield that he throws as a projectile. Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young artist enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental "super-soldier serum" after joining the military to aid the United States government's efforts in World War II. Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in modern times. Although Captain America often struggles to maintain his ideals as a man out of his time, he remains a highly respected figure both with the American public and in the superhero community, which includes becoming the long-time leader of the Avengers.
Captain America was the first Marvel Comics character to appear in media outside comics with the release of the 1944 movie serial, Captain America. Since then, the character has been featured in other films and television series. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the character is portrayed by Chris Evans. Captain America was ranked sixth on IGN's "Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time" in 2011, second in their list of "The Top 50 Avengers" in 2012, and second in their "Top 25 best Marvel superheroes" list in 2014.

I never understood Sam taking up Cap's job. Viewers give the shield slinging a pass due to Cap's superhuman ability, so the logical choice was Bucky who had undergone a similar treatment and had already shown he could utilise it as effectively as Rogers. Sam was doing great with his wing-suit, but he was a support character. I can't see them elevating him to Cap's role well enough for this to succeed.

Agreed! You can't just throw one character into another's role and expect people not to just roll their eyes. 🙄 They could have used U.S. Agent (John Walker) as a temporary "Cap" until Marvel can unscrewed up the franchise. Wasn't impressed by how "Endgame" closed out that phase. 😕

Comic wise, Buckey got the shield after Steve... then Sam got it after Buckey. Buckey makes more sense due to him being a super soldier too.

The shield never should have been given to Sam. It should have been given to Bucky. The Captain America movies didn't revolve around the friendship of Steve and Sam. They're all about Steve and Bucky. He was the logical choice.

Disney is tripping hard. If deadpool doesn't do at least a billion, things could get bleak. If that happens, everything probably rests on this movie. Its hard to believe that they continue to put politically ideology in front of a good story. I heard DP is in reshoots to add DEI. Oh boy. Didn't Bucky replace Rogers in the comics? Mackie did a great job as the Falcon made it his own as Downey did with Stark, and Boseman did with black panther & deserves his own Falcon movie. If Hollywood wants diversity why don't they make more movies about black superheroes there are many from John Stewart who is the best Green Lantern to Static Shock.

I still don't understand the fighting amongst each other the 2 sides cap and tiny. Were they suppose to kill each other? Play football? Tennis? And I believe that wasnt cap at the funeral. He would not stay back in the past risking a mess up with the timeline. Also if he stayed in the past wouldn't Carter's niece know cap before she met future cap?

In the MCU.. timelines change from past or future time travel.. he lived in a past timeline with carter until she died.(not the same carter from this timeline) he got himself more pim particals from the past and came back to the future to give falkon the shield and say goodbye.. i think he may have gone back to that timeline again after.. he could have kids a grabdkids there... anyways that cap is finished... they cant use him for future movies.. he is way too old.
