What made Cap great is his heart. He’s called the First Avenger because he’s the first who’s willing to put himself on the line for the greater good, maybe the ultimate good, and the story of the rest of the Avengers is their journey to catch up to where Cap was when they pulled him out of the ice. Arguably some of those arcs were never completed but we saw Stark, Widow, and Thor go on long journeys to find the power Steve Rogers already had when he was still a shrimps kid from Brooklyn.

A scene people tend to look over is when cap held back Tony's Armor from flying.That suit can produce more power than a fighter jet and the suit weighs alot. If a normal human tried to do that Thier bones would be ripped apart yet cap did that with one hand

To sum up Cap, Captain American is endowed via serum with peak human attributes (strength , stamina, speed, reflexes, etc). He would win every event in the Olympics. Coupled with his knowledge in hand-to-hand combat and military training. Most importantly, he is known for the his intangibles such as leadership, integrity, purpose driven, etc. or as Dr Erskine would simply put it “a good man.”

Steve just lived a long life, because his body was super healthy. Even look at Isaiah Bradley. He has the Super Soldier Serum, but he's old now. Anyone with a very healthy body and lifestyle can live a long life.
