music way ahead of it's time. These guys are officially my favorite rockband of all time

This was a musicians band, you can hear that sooooo many more-famous bands that came around after them MUST have been listening to Captain Beyond. Long live the Captain!

Bought the album in 73 for the cover because I never heard of Captain Beyond and I thought what the hell. It was a great find for me personally and I've loved Captain Beyond ever since and I never understood why they didn't hit it big. If you've never heard Captain Beyond you need to sit down and listen to Sufficiently Breathless, the entire album from start to finish.

They didn't get enough support from Atlantic Records because at the time, Southern Rock was the big thing they were putting the focus on. It's a shame, in a way, but we did get great music that was not very commercial in the bargain.

Love the song, the intro always reminded me of the ending of Hotel California and I was pleased to find out this came first.

I hear the ending of Jukebox Hero throughout much of this song.

This sounds fresh as hell. This is what all the new hipster retro prog bands would like to be, if they had the talent and imagination.

This great band played at a little venue in Dallas where I once worked back in the mid-seventies, Gertie's. It had changed it's name to Dooley's by the time they played, but they rocked the shit out of us. Lee Dorman handled the business end of the deal, and you couldn't have asked for a more laid back, cool as shit dude. May he Rest in Peace.

I went to Mother's Blues, the Bijou, Travis St Electric co, and I had many friends from Oak Cliff section of Dallas who went to Gerties but unfortunately I never made it there. Loved Captain Beyond. Those were great days.

@@pgo301 No, Patrick, I believe that they put out three LP's, but, being over 65, I have a free pass when it comes to doing the memory thing. What were we talking about again? What are you doing in my kitchen? I saw the best minds of my generation...

@@roberthamill2451 LOL!!!! I have this album, however I could never find anything else by them. This was in the 80's when I got this particular album. So now that we are in the internet age, I'm going to look for more of their work. Thank You Robert!! :D Be good to yourself.
