Proof music was at it's best in the 1970s. I have been listening to this album since it came out. So many people do NOT know about this band.

I know, it's like how can a band be this good with an all star line up that big but somehow still miss the big time ?
@WhiteNacho6 ай бұрын
I do, I saw them at The Hollywood bowl 1972 on acid!
@NoWayOut553 ай бұрын
Blame it on Crapicorn Records. The Band tore it up the first time around. Next LP, they were playing watered down Allman Bros riffs. And that was the end of Captain Beyond.@guymendez8236
@NoWayOut553 ай бұрын
The baddest assed Band of 1972. Captain Beyond was the Supergroup of its time. Top to bottom, classic asskicking riffs. All brought to you by Deep Purple, Johnny Winter and Iron Butterfly. What a killer line up!

I loved this album when I was a junior in high school and I do mean "high" school, this album took me to places in my mind that I might never see again, at least while I'm alive that music did exactly as they wanted it transformed our consciousness in a good way I might add

I was in a band in 1972 > we at the time did a lot of copy bands type of music.. we played many of these songs and since Captain Beyond didn't get much air play most people thought the songs were ours. In 1977 we rehursed in their old Capricorn studio in Macon Ga. One of my all time favorite bands for sure.

CB could be considered 70's "alternative". Definitely not main stream. Even at the time, no one knew who they were. Budgie is another one. Anyway, while the punks were listening to the 'Stones', the real music went over their heads. Not much has changed. Ciao

Actually, Lee told me that the reason that listed only Bobby and Rod as the songwriters is that Lee and Rhino were still under contract with the record company with Iron Butterfly.There is no way that a drummer and a singer wrote these songs alone.

A guitar player's dream. Rhino had that ability like Jimmy Page to incorporate so many different guitar parts and tones into a cohesive whole. Add in Lee Dorman's bass, Bobby Caldwell's drumming, and Rod Evans smooth vocals and you have a seamless Classic Rock album that stands the test of time. It was thousands of days ago, but it seems like only yesterday! Where's the start, where's the end?
