I remember being in Epcot in 1998 and being aware of this Captain EO “ride” but never went in. Went again in 2007 and I don’t believe the ride was there anymore. But when I came back in 2014 with my gf, now as an adult and fully aware of what this was, and I saw they were showing this again in Epcot I didn’t hesitate and im glad I didn’t because I loved it. It’s an old film and it was late at night to so theater was almost empty but I was enthralled. Not so much my gf who fell asleep. Little ways later I learned they retired this attraction, apparently for good now, so all the more reason to be happy I went in.

I also saw this when I was 6 and LOVED it! I knew exactly who Michael Jackson was. And when they brought it back, I forced my family to watch it. My daughter freaking fell asleep! Sure, she was 2, but I wanted her to experience the wonder and amazement I had. Eventually Michael Jackson became a sort of ghost story character as my daughter loved the Journey into Imagination ride. In the gift shop, I would stare up at the stairwell which once lead to the original ImageWorks. This was before they turned it into a DVC lounge, so they actually made an attempt to hide it. We all wanted to go up, including my daughter so I told her that they blocked it off due to the zombie. A Zombie lived up there, and Disney had to seal up the upstairs because of it. That was the reason we weren’t allowed up there. But the story just gets more and more twisted as we went on. You see, the first time she rode it, my husband couldn’t remember Figments name, so he called him Picklepuss. So Figment forever became known to us as Picklepuss. So naturally, the being upstairs lurking in the abandoned ImageWorks is the Picklepuss Zombie. And to prove he was up there is a ton of pictures online of his 80s self standing in the famous Rainbow Tunnel. Now, whenever a Michael Jackson song plays on the radio, who’s that? “It’s the Picklepuss Zombie.” Even the Jackson 5, where he admits to seeing Mommy kissing Santa Claus.... ...Picklepuss Zombie. Such a talented boy/adult, turned into a Disney creepy pasta

I was lucky enough to see this at Disneyland in 1984 and what stands out to me the most in my memory was the flying furby coming out in the audience in 3-D and almost everyone reached out to grab it.

I saw this back at Epcot during its limited run back when MJ died. Everything he said here perfectly encapsulates what I felt. Anjelica Huston did scare the frick out of me, and this actually was also my introduction to MJ. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it as much the first time because of how "scary" I thought it was. Especially those hidden water sprayers, I despised those things. I just appreciate the fact I got to experience a show that was before my time in what was then a modern age. Truly a once in a lifetime experience to have ridden (the room/seats did move, I'm sure of that) it. I also remember losing my sunglasses in there and my dad running back to escape the theater before getting locked inside by a cast member. Again, truly a once in a lifetime experience.
